You may lose a disc! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 15, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Very good variety of shots to be used.
Bag hooks are a plus. The super long par 5 on hole 18 is fun!
I started playing disc golf at this course and never tried another course for the first year. After going to another course for the first time I realized how easy the other courses are. Bella Vista will challenge you!

Cons:

Don't play immediately after heavy rains/floods. The last large flood really did damage on this course.
Does get muddy on several holes after rains.
2 holes have powerlines that get in the way of opening drives, 13, 17. 17 actually had a disc somehow stuck up in the powerline and burnt to a crisp.
Hole 8's basket was ripped out of the ground during a flood, hasn't been fixed properly as of this review. (Just sits above ground with the concrete base keeping it upright)
No benches but that is something we can live without.

Other Thoughts:

There are six holes with a water hazard. Four of them have easier amateur tee pads to almost eliminate the risk.

Fun, wet and challenging! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 10, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Great design! This course has a really good variety of holes with left and right dog legs, and long and short holes. It has lots of trees and a fair amount of open holes too. There are several holes with water hazards that make it so much fun to play.

-Good maintenance. The greens were mowed, not any graffiti or trash on the course that I noticed

-Beautiful location. This course is very nice to look at with all the water holes and it
s located in a nice, clean park with friendly people around.

-good baskets, tees, signs, and bag holders on almost EVERY hole.

-Easy to navigate, especially with the signs pointing out the location of the next tees.

-The course is challenging in a good way, but it's still fun enough for beginners to enjoy.

Cons:

-It's flat. Although I think the design was fantastic, there was not much elevation change.

-No benches or trash cans at any of the tees.

-The last 2 holes are VERY long and will probably be considered boring or too challenging for a lot of players

-There are a lot of pedestrians around and the pathways are sometimes too close to the fairways which can be dangerous or awkward.

Other Thoughts:

This course is just so much fun and enjoyable to play. I am really looking forward to playing it again. Benches and trash cans would make it really nice.

A Very Nice, Challenging Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 2, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course is located in Northwest Arkansas around Lake Bella Vista. Several holes bring the lake into play. Water hazards are used very effectively. Two holes play on a small peninsula in the lake. There's enough water to give you some risk/reward, but you never have to drive more than 200 ft. to get over it. Beginners can play it safe, or just play from the am tee pads. The course provides a very drastic variety of holes. There's the 1100 ft open shot, and the 250 ft wooded shot. And then, there's everything in between. Some holes will require a long, accurate drive, and then a good upshot to save par. Very challenging to the Int. and Adv. groups. Rec. players will have a really difficult time playing here. Tee signs are very informative, providing the hole distance, line, and next tee pad. Bag holders are next to every tee on the course.

Cons:

It can get very muddy, and even flooded here after a big rain. Even in dry periods, some fairways have standing water. Walking paths are along several holes, not causing any safety issues if you can keep on the fairway, but a stray drive could get someone hurt. Many of the tee pads are just rocks put down. It can be difficult teeing off from some. Navigation can be difficult if you don't notice the next tee locations on the signs. Holes 17 and 18 are very long, and boring. Which adds a certain dimension to the course, but really is just making you throw as you walk back to the parking lot.

Other Thoughts:

It's a 45 minute drive to here from where I live, and it's definitely worth every minute of it. It's a great course to come and be challenged. And when you shoot well here, you really feel as if you accomplished something great. If you're ever in the NW Arkansas area, this is a must play.

Great Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 31, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Great design. Easy to follow. Fun water holes. The holes are well Maintained. Over all the course is a great place to come practice and get better because you will come out a better player. One of the best course in northwest arkansas. It is a must play for any level player.

Cons:

Stays flooded for a long time after rains. You will need to bring a floating disc if you let the water shot get to you. Parking can be an issue sometimes.

Other Thoughts:

A Innova Dragon works good and it is chep.

Best in NW Arkansas 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 10, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Didn't want the game to end. Bring your bag, you'll need every shot you've got for this course. Everything from a sharp 200 ft. anhyzer to a 400 foot tight hyzer to a 1100 ft. open par 5. Great challenge, excellent scenery. Course plays along a lake, and a lot of holes bring the water into play. There is an island hole, and at least two or three other holes that you have to throw over water. There are at least three true par 4's, that are a lot of fun. Signs are some of the best I've seen, (check picture) including distance, route, and directions to the next hole. It is a huge course ending with the last two holes a par 4 and 5. Has a post on each hole to hang your bag.. nice touch.

Cons:

Rubber tees are less than ideal, and it was really muddy. Today was below freezing, so a lot of the mud was crusty, but I still slid a lot. Hole 14 is a joke, throwing 250 feet or so, turning around and throwing back at the hole another 150. It was difficult to even find the basket. It seems like a couple of the last holes (16 or 17 and 18 are just thrown in there to get you back to the parking lot.) I know this is unavoidable because of the layout, but they are just wide open in a field, par 4 and 5.

Other Thoughts:

This course is a must play. Extremely clean, well maintained, and well thought out.

Beautiful, challenging course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 17, 2008 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Excellent use of the lake and wooded area. Holes range from 200 to 1100 feet making for great variety. Hole 8 will test the gambler in you as it runs almost length-wise with a narrow part of the lake. The basket is nestled between the woods and water; you either play it as a 90 degree angle (safe) or shoot straight over the water 300+ feet.

Cons:

The course maint. is very spotty, sometimes unplayable when they let the grass go or it rains. No matter what, lots of opportunity for lost discs in the woods and water. I lost 4 discs one day, mostly on blind shots, but still had a blast. If the course had some elevation shots and better maintenance it could become a 5.
