Creosote Heaven/Hell drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jan 8, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

It's new and easy to find
The tees are in good shape
Most of the tees are marked
There are some signs for navigation
The general area is scenic - lots of variety of cactus
It's a new course in Tucson!

Cons:

Three of the tees aren't marked with a number
None of the baskets are marked with numbers
Navigation is at times confusing
Holes cross each other twice so there is a lot of "FORE!" yelling
Crowded on weekends
Basket #3 is hard to locate and intersects with players coming the opposite direction

Other Thoughts:

I'm visiting after living here 20 years and am thrilled to find another disc golf course. This course isn't great for the first time because navigation is a little tricky. It would 500% better if ALL the Tee Pads were marked with numbers (including #1) and the signage was a bit more consistent. Most of the time, it's not too hard to find the next tee pad. Most of the holes are short but the barriers (creosote mostly) are significant. Loved the last 3 holes--by far the prettiest and most interesting part of this course. I would give it 2.5 stars but I'm sure I'd make it 3 stars after I got to know the course better. It's a little annoying spending a day getting slightly lost and digging your disc out of shrubbery on almost every hole. I would recommend this course on less crowded times because you run into players coming toward you twice.
