Great Potential! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 19, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

The land for this course is great! This used to be a ball golf course. The designer had 45 acres to work with. There is plenty of land for long bomb shots, there are enough trees for technical shots, and there is a lot of elevation that is put to good use.
The layout of this course is great! There are a lot of signs that point to the next tee pad.
This is a challenging, yet fun layout.
There are also some nice views of the nearby lake.

Cons:

The first con is that I have to give it a 3.5. This course is a 4.0 course, which in my standards is really great!
The reasons I cant give that rating yet are that the concrete pads are not yet there, the tee signs are not there yet, and the ground is still uneven, especially on pads. With the addition of these things, which will definitely happen, will make this course a very good 4.0 course.
There is longer walk between hole 9 and hole 10, with a sign pointing to 10 that is still far away from 9's basket.

Other Thoughts:

This a great KC course! Once the pads and signs are put in, it will be tied for my 2nd favorite course in Kansas City. The designer, Tom Butler, did a great job with the layout of this course. It is obvious how much her cares about the course!
