Course doesn't favor a certain style and windy conditions are a big equalizer.

Difficulty varies. If you are a pro with a big arm and hit it on a calm day, you'll be shooting for birds most of the day. There are 4 'tee boxes', reds for advanced, green for intermediate, pink for women, and blue for juniors.

The course is piggybacking on Lakeside Marina's Forest Service lease. As such, the landscape cannot be altered as much as desired. This means lots of sage brush and other pokey hazards.

Tee pads are dirt and as smooth as they're going to get given the fact that it's the ROCKY Mountains and the lack of funds to put mats down.

The USFS will also not allow any permanent features on the course so baskets are moveable.

The course hosts two tournaments a year. One in July and one in October. Lodging is available through the marina with a full restaurant and bar. A host of activities are available year round. During winter months, the course is shortened to 9 holes for those hardy souls that dare brave the knee deep snow.

Nice views of the lake! There are a full 18 holes, and the lodge has maps available to help you navigate. There's also a nice little restaurant to get lunch right next to hole one! Take advantage of some good fishing after the round!

There are a couple of things that the course could improve on. The layout is pretty confusing. Without a map this place would be IMPOSSIBLE to navigate. several holes have you walk almost all the way back to a teepad you just threw from! Lack of natural lanes formed by obstacles after hole 7 contribute to the lack of "flow" on the course. The other issue are the baskets. It's really nice that there are a full 18, but none of them are permanent, and I'm sure half of them aren't legal baskets. They have a weird "dish" shape for a basket which can cause firm putts to slide right back out like a ramp. Also, the course is overgrown with burrs and sagebrush, but I believe it's just never been cut back.

This course really isn't too terrible, especially considering the area that it's in. Disc golf isn't very big on the Western side of Wyoming and south of Yellowstone. It's easy to appreciate the effort that went into the course, but the lack of general maintenance and the fact that it's kinda in the middle of nowhere work against it. The area is very windy, but it's not really a con since it's not the course designers fault. I think it probably isn't worth the drive for most people, but be prepared to catch a lot of weird looks if you make the trip (people really don't know what disc golf is!).
