Pros:
~Fun approachable course
~Good variety and use of mild elevation
~Repeatable play, can throw multiple continuous rounds
Cons:
~Course has been open, but still needs some final clearing/cleaning up
~Awkward flow from hole 3 to 4
Other Thoughts:
The goal was to put in a beginner friendly 9 hole course on school grounds to promote family and youth activity. Leopardville is a fun layout with moderate to short hole lengths. A good beginner course while maintaining the fun factor for experienced players.
It's a new course recently opened, and for the most part is in really good playing shape. A couple of holes will benefit from additional clearing and limbing up trees......Hole 2 is a straight wooded line, but the fairway needs opened up a touch more, this can be a really good hole, but is the only one that requires advanced skill to throw and doesn't quite fit in with the beginner course vibe....Hole 4 is also a good hole with a tight dogleg right fairway, but the limbs on the trees lining the left side of the tunnel need to be removed another 5+ feet or so to provide a fair tee shot. They are currently too low to the ground.
Hole 3 finishes behind the abandoned roller rink, and you then walk around the parking lot across Hole 1 then cross the road to get to 4. Not a huge issue, just some awkward flow. The rest of the course flows great.
Nice use of mild elevation changes and playing along a lazy creek in a more open tract of land completes the course.
A very nice addition to Louisville, and compliments nearby Wildwood. After your visit stop by Unhitched Brewing to quench your thirst and enjoy the goodness that this small town offers.
