There are so many things I like about this course that it's easy to overlook it's flaws. Kind of like that girl you once knew who had this one or maybe two really fine (you fill in the blank here) attributes that made you fail to notice her (take your pick here) thunder thighs, buck teeth, uni-brow, pizza complexion, librarian personality, etc.

What did I find so enthralling about the Lions Park DGC? Firstly, there were about 9 or 10 downhill ACE runs. That's a great % for any course. I loved the way they used little metal plates to indicated the hole # on the concrete tee pad. These metal strips were also used to say "Grangeville Disc Club" on the front of each tee pad. This basically eliminated the need for tee signs on the course. I thought it was pretty clever to use two of the small bridges as tee pads.
I liked the way that holes 13-15-17 play up the hill so that you'll be able to play fun shots like # 14 and 16 down the same hill. I love the way that the small creek that meanders along here is incorporated into the course as well as the chain link fences of the ball fields.
I so appreciated the little "next tee arrows" hanging below the chains. They were a great help in navigating this course. Why can't all courses have these?

Now for the young ladies flaws.....Oh, I mean the course's flaws and there are a few. Starting with the lovely hole # 1. It's a really fun downhill toss about 280' with the added element of having to keep your drive low enough at the end to slide under the branches of several trees. Unfortunately, the basket is perched only about 20 feet to the left of the softball backstop. You'd have to skip this hole when players are present.
Three other holes have you teeing off right over the top of various ball fields.
# 18 is a short little throw over the parking lot. It might pose a problem if cars were present.
I did miss not having the distances listed.
A couple of the tee pads are just carved into the grass and are difficult to recognize.

There are so many fun throws to be had here that they over shadow the course's obvious blemishes. The fences of the ball field are used effectively especially on # 5 and then again on # 12. That's a very fun throw. # 14 was very pretty with the basket sitting behind some trees and the little creek but just in front of an outfield fence. So many fun throws here!
