Pros:

Little River is a short range course. Lots of pitch-n-putt holes. Lots of birdie runs. Plenty of ace runs too. And lots of fun.
- No big arms required. The long tees average 194 feet with the longest hole coming in at 266 feet - #15. From the short tees, there isn't a single hole longer than 200 feet.
- Good flow to the course. At times transitions or fairways cross over others. Follow the signs and navigation is a breeze. If you get greedy and just walk to the next tee that you see, well, that's on you.
- #4 is the most scenic hole on the course with the pond serving as a backdrop. Sail your disc long and it actually becomes a challenge.
- #13 - 15 all have some tight squeezes between trees. If you're a fan of Plinko, you may enjoy ricocheting discs off multiple trees.
- Some amusing ambience throughout the course. The bus hole (#3) features the top of an old bus alongside the fairway. There's also a bathroom here in what appears to be an old building.
- If you like variety, you'll enjoy the array of colored baskets. They are portable so there are issues with them when it comes to grabbing discs. On the positive side, you may be throwing at a pink basket on one hole, an orange one the next, then a yellow.
- Great course for casual and beginner courses. You'll have to do something wrong to see a bogey or worse. I got a 4 on #7 after my kick off a tree went deep into the woods. If you can be accurate, you'll do real good.
- This course doesn't have the that homeowner course vibe. Put in better baskets and you can see this course being in a public park instead of on someone's private land.

Cons:

Portable baskets. Single chains don't grab as well as double chains. Chances are most rounds here will be casual. But still, having a putt chain out that would be good on a regulation basket is a bit frustrating.
- Several throwaway, way-too-short, way-too-easy layouts. #10 is wide open, straight, and 139 feet (only 105 from the short tees). #14 is shorter than this, but it does have trees to creating a much tougher layout.
- Tee areas aren't consistent. That said, most players shouldn't need much of a run up for 200-foot holes.
- There's a long, poorly cleared path back to the parking area. As well defined as all the other transitions are throughout, this one still needs some work.
- Nothing to do with the course itself, but it's in the middle of nowhere. You probably have to seek out this course rather than being in the neighborhood. That said, you are only 35 minutes from the IDGC.

Other Thoughts:

Little River was a fun short course. By short course standards (I consider sub 3600-foot layouts (200 feet per hole) as short courses), this had some highlights and some 'growth areas.'
- Good course for practicing. You could do good playing this course with only a putter and a mid. Play this course with that little used mid-range and you might find out the disc should be getting more usage.
- The course is very inviting. There's a sign for the course on SC 378. There's another at the bend on Watson Road, and finally another one at the end of the road. It's an easy walk from there to the first tee.
- There's a kiosk at the first tee with a map, pay box, loaner disc selection, and a survey sheet for feedback on a course logo and t-shirt options.
- If the fairways are kept maintained, paths are kept cleared, and underbrush kept in check, this will remain a fun place to play.
- Hole such as #3, 5, 10, 15, 16, & 18 all allow a little more room for shot shaping and different shot types.
- Course would be a lot more popular If it were in a more populated area. Put it closer to Augusta, Columbia, or the Upstate, and it would be getting a lot more attention. As it is, consider this a great off the beat path course.
