Pros:

McCausland DGC is one of the stranger courses I've played to date. One of the jankiest layouts I've ever seen. It works for the most part if it isn't busy, which it won't be.

The baskets are Innova Discatchers. There's 8 of them if I'm counting them right, for 12 holes. The baskets themselves are in great shape and catch well. All are mounted level and easy to spot. There's one pin position per hole, the tees are what move here.

The tee signs are pretty simple but effective. Hole #, distance and par. The majority of baskets are right in front of you so a map isn't needed for most of the holes.

Tees are natural, but due to the remote nature of the course and lack of traffic they're in great shape. Basically just grass like the rest of the course.

The course is free to play and in the ground year round.

Cons:

What a strange, strange layout. You'd almost have to see the map of the course to understand it. Holes 5,6,7 and 8 play in what's kind of like a ditch. Hole 6's basket and 7's tee feel like it's in someone's front yard. There's zero line from where hole 5's tee sign is located. I could go on and on about the questionable things here.

If the crops in the field are up the potential for a lost disc is very high, especially with the winds out here. We lost one in the field and almost 2 others. I'm actually amazed we didn't lose those other 2.

All the holes feel pretty much identical. 2 to 300' with the basket straight ahead. Except hole 9. That one plays over 600' for no explainable reason. But it's still straight ahead with nothing in the way.

Other Thoughts:

This course was a head scratcher. I wouldn't bother with this one unless you need to play them all. There are a few other courses not too far away so if you're playing some of those it won't take much time to squeeze this one in I guess. It has 12 holes with signs and baskets so it's hard to give it less than a 1. It's borderline "passable".
