New and improved double chains! grabs the discs out of the air! This course is slowly turning into a tournament course! Great Balance of long holes and short. Big oak trees but other than that open fairways, until you hit the back 9 it has some tough narrow holes.

Dirt tee pads, Swampy areas on 11,14,16,18. No way of knowning where the basket is, no map layout.

Navigation-- First six are easy to follow. Added the up-to date map. Much easier second time around

Variety-- Reasonable, I actually liked hole 11 through the swampy forest, but hated #10 along ruddiman creek.

Teepads-- in great shape, but the teesigns (where there are teesigns) are very arbitrary. Sometimes on the pro tee and sometimes on the short. New elevated teepads are in really good shape, stairs to the pads are a serious plus.

Navigation-- is a nightmare. navigation between hole 6&7 and then from 7 to 11 is nightmarish. There are NO directional signs that tell you to cross the creek to 8/9 and then cross the road to 10. Many reviews state that people just skip 8, 9, 10 (which I hated anyways).

Non-discers-- BUSY park with non-discers everywhere. Hole one was unplayable as there was a huge picnic right on the teepad, hole six there was a small picnic party thing right on the fairway.

Re-reviewed after 4.5 year absence. This course has improved dramatically. The cement teepads are very nice and a testiment to the locals dedication to "McNasty." Improvements still need made with teesignage and "next tee" signs.

Multiple tees for the first 7 holes, plus 12.13 and 15. Challenging shots some holes you need to be accurate with placement or you could find your disc in a undesirable location. elevation changes were nice wasn't just a totally flat course. good mixture of long and short holes.

tee pads are dirt and some are very uneven. There should be a sign near the basket for seven directing you along the road and over the creek to get to holes 8 - 10. from the 7th basket all you see is the 11th tee. could use a sign directing to 17th tee if you haven't played here before.

when i played hole 17 basket was missing. I had a fun time playing the course. although i don't think i would want to play the course after a big rainfall some of the lower level holes could get very bad with the creek running right near the holes and fairways. nice big park with lots of space. probably wouldn't have found holes 8 - 10 if i hadn't seen other golfers walking up along the road after finishing hole 7. There are a couple of blind shots hole 7 you have to aim at the sledding hill hole is down below and to the right. hole 8 is up and along the tree line on the left but you can't see the hole from the tee. Hole 10 tee is across the road and down the hill by the water. then you head back towards 7th basket to get to 11.

-Course forces you to use all throws possible, even the ones you didn't know you had.

-Distances marked are sometimes inaccurate
-Trees that punish even the best of shots
-Tee pads are dirt. (I'm a spoiled disc golfer!)
-Parts of the course are very tough to navigate. Hole 7-10 are ones you need to explore for if it is your first time out. The rest will lead into one another.

Bring your mids out for the shorts. The Pros offer a bit of a challenge for those feeling ambitious. There are many different angles you can take to every hole. Don't be afraid to use them all. This course really challenges every throw in your book. It will pull out and show your weakness. Don't be afraid to take the easy way out on your shots. Accuracy is a better friend than distance and find the shot with the highest percentage of success. Play it safe here!

We couldn't find the tee post for hole 7...maybe it got broken...but we teed off up by the stage area
I could imagine it could get crowded on the weekends with park users, etc...was great playing on a Friday afternoon...only saw a couple others golfers and only 4 people at the park

My home course, Within walking distance to my house, I have 6 aces here, Front 6 holes are all deuceable, Mixture of short and long holes, League play is Winter: Sundays at 1:00 p.m., Summer: Mondays at 6:00 p.m.

No cement tees, Single chain baskets, Litter, No local club to improve the course, City of Muskegon seems to be out of touch with disc golf in general, Some holes need dead branches cleared/cut, People stealing baskets (old #5), People moving baskets without consulting the people who play this course everyday, Addam Oliver redesigns

Big trees and grass create unique playing environments on Holes 1-9 and 12-15. Has some interesting water holes (10, 16, 18). Nice views of Ruddiman Lagoon and Muskegon Lake, lots of squirrels and waterfowl, only disc golf in city of Muskegon, near Pere Marquette Beach. New cement tee pads added in late 2013 has significantly improved the course. The elevated tee on Hole 8 is very nice. With some new tee positions created, this course is finally ready for prime time. In addition, it appears that some repair work has been done to the existing baskets. Great job by local volunteers.

Moderately hard to navigate (finding tees for holes 6 and 7 is difficult, as is hole 11), Single chain baskets make putting difficult, though as mentioned many baskets have been repaired. Most of the sign posts are now gone, which would make navigation a potential nightmare for first-time players. Some of the new long tee positions on the front nine encroach on the outer boundaries of the park, creating a few opportunities for OB drives. This does make the course challenging, even if it seems like a compromise in course design.

The lakeshore area could use a course at Hoffmaster and/or Muskegon State Park to rival Ludington courses. However, the recent work done does a lot to make this course viable.

Good mix of challenges, some technical shots required, some elevation changes, some water to contend with. Tricky basket placements can cause aggresive putters to get in trouble. Most holes are not overly long, but trees can make them seem longer. Easy to navigate, except for a section around the 8-11th hole which helps to have a local guide.

A few holes have pedestrian traffic (15 comes to mind), and a few of the holes are a bit tiresome (11, 14, 17 & 18). Dirt tees on all holes, and many holes missing tee signs. Careful on 16, easy to lose a disc here.
