Putt and Approach field work 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 30, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nicely groomed park

-Bathrooms

-Water fountain

Cons:

-No teepads, tee area

-Challenge is waiting for pedestrians to go by

-Basket(s) missing

Other Thoughts:

I had just got done playing Oak Grove-Purple and was a bit tired. Thought I could squeeze in another 18 here, but it was hard to determine where to start, which basket to shoot at and the park was filled with people playing soccer, softball, basketball and even a few BBQ's. Finally found a place to start and played 1-2 all the way around the park, meaning that you must put the disc in the basket in 1 or 2 throws, or you must throw again from the same basket until you do.

This is not a typical disc golf course unless you take the time to create the course, with the baskets that are in place, by yourself.

Time management (putting within the PDGA limits) and short approach shots is what this course is best suited for.

Oak Grove Park is about a 7-10 minute drive across the I-5 on 8 Mile Road. Pay the $5 entrance fee and play a 19 and and 18 hole course that will be a better experience than here.

I give The Course A 1.0, The Restroom A Zero. 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 25, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

It's a beautiful park well kept park with velvety soft green grass. The 18 baskets are placed randomly around the perimiter of the park along the walking path. There are no teepads or signs. I agree with previous users that some parks department official wanted to add disc golf to the parks list of activities.

Cons:

The restroom was gross. It smelled like a Sani-can after a Grateful dead concert!
A ballgame would affect your practice schedule.

Don't waste your time here, drive over to Oak Grove for a real course.

Other Thoughts:

You can play this course clockwise or you play it counter clockwise.

I say take the # 1 basket and transplant it over to the HCP elementary school course in Loomis. They desperately need to replace their stolen # 1 basket and NO-ONE will ever notice that it's missing here.
