Great place to Toss discs 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 13, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course has some of the best amenities for a nine hole course.(Practice basket, Directional signs, score cards, Lengthened tee pad, benches and trash cans at each tee pad.) This is a very well loved course. As for the golf, each hole is a challenge with variety of wooded along with a few openish shots. The Decent course design with nice hole lengths, unforturnately with it being in a flood plain it is fairly flat and has almost no elevation. When the course is taken care of it is a a really beautiful course. Also, camp ground is very close to the a few holes making it easy access for campers.

Cons:

No elevations or water in play.
The course can be a hold a bit of water in the early spring.

Other Thoughts:

This is a great nine hole course that is thoughtfully designed, it make for a great day of disc golf when you throw in Shu Pond(a Private course in Oconto). Come check it out and see for yourself.

Winging at Wittkopf 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 14, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is a very fun, well designed course that plays its way through a wood sections near the Holtwood campground. It has Chainstars baskets that are all in great shape and catch great. The flow of the course is very easy to follow, if ya get lost there are directions arrows to direct you. The course is flat with multiple trees to contend with on every hole. The lines are fair on each hole though. There are nice tee signs at each hole. these have a basic hole layout, distance, hole number and par. Everything you need out of a tee sign. The tees are all concrete. These are all level and grip just right. There's a great mix of shot shaping required here for just a nine hole course. The distances are 368'- 252' which is a plus compared to most nine hole courses. The course is permanent and free to play. It is also set up in a disc golf exclusive area which is always a bonus. Wouldn't ever seem to be to busy either. The course was very clean and well taken care of. There's pencils and scorecards provided too which is nice.

Cons:

This course can hold some water during the thaw months but its still playable. Also, sometimes the city neglects to mow the course for a month and the Rough can get out of control.

Other Thoughts:

This is a really fun, excellently designed course in a nice town. When you couple this course with Shu Pond just 5 miles away, Oconto starts to become a pretty awesome place to disc. Plus, you can head north and play Badger park and Marinette, which would be a really great day of disc golf.

Great little Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 15, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Each hole is a challenge with variety of wooded and open shots
-Decent course design with nice hole lengths
-Well kept fairways
-Very difficult to lose a disc
-Camping and sports complex on site

Cons:

-Tee boxes are too short
-Virtually no elevation changes throughout the entirety of the course
-Can get mucky after a good rain

Other Thoughts:

Overall, I enjoyed the course. For a small 9 hole ride, I felt satisfied coming out of it. Most of the holes are at least 280 feet or longer, and the low ceilings and dog legs make for some tight skill shots. If you are around the area, I would recommend stopping by for a fling.
