Moore is a very expansive community park and the DG portion is busy. It's about 2/3's open and 1/3 forested 18er. The open section tends to have shared treed fairways, but particularly the first five are pretty tightly interconnected. There are a couple bombers on the back half and the forest holes tend to be short hops with a creek running throughout as water hazard. The open section has elevation and the forested tended to be flat but rocky.

For a community course, it played well and was full of fellow DGers on a cold, windy March day. Upfront five and the forest holes were more touch and go, testing your approach game and a variety of shots. The rest of the open course relied on distance. #7 in particular had a basket on a tricky small raised ridge with no landing zone that could add strokes putting. #8's basket was elevated as well. #13's bomber is flat while the return #18 700' is a nice downhill.

All in all, a nice well-rounded, time-tested community 18er. Tees were good and signs were well illustrated.

I went after a big rain, so the creek may have been flowing a lot more than usual, but there are places I wish there was a proper bridge. I remember having to backtrack the entirety of #9 and a few other forest holes due to the creek. Any crossings tend to be a single log or a series of stones. I was super-glad to have worn my waterproof shoes for these parts.

There are no major deficiencies and at the same time no signature holes. I wished the forest holes were a bit longer, or a major hyzer or annie hole to flex on.

The biggest downside is this place probably sees a lot of crowd. I didn't see any amenities near the course although the park itself is huge.

It was a fun round in an overall better and bigger but mostly typical community park level golf with a helping of proper forest.

18 holes with concrete tees and DIScatcher baskets in good condition. Solid mix of open and wooded holes. Some longer par 3's and a pair of par 4's along with a heaping of ace runs and "deuce or die" holes. Tees are in great shape. Tee signs are adequate. Small creek comes into play on a few holes but discs are easily retrievable. Course is part of a large township park but does not interfere with many of the other activites of the park. Grass is short and well maintained. Couple of new pins change up a few of the holes in the woods.

While the tees themselves are in good shape, they are fairly short and don't allow an easy run-up. The only place I could see a lost disc would be left side of 13, which is really thick. Walking path does come into play on a few holes, as well as the park road on holes 5-7 (rarely busy depending on season/field use). The new pins are somewhat marked on the signs but these should be upgraded at some point.

While not a destination course, it is a good course to introduce someone new to the game, and also a place to try and pick up that elusive ace. I visit the area once a year for a week and include Moore Township as part of my circuit.

Course plays in the randomly-treed, slightly-sloped, open space of a large public park, with a few holes playing in the nearby woods.

This course has all the basics, well done. Practice basket, tee=1/basket=18 near parking lot. Tees and signs of adequate size. Straightforward navigation.

Roughly 1/3rd of the holes are long, open, with some modest elevation changes.

Roughly 1/3rd of the holes are of moderate length, more open than tight, with some modest elevation changes. Most offer two ways to attack - low, under the random branch/tree, gentler turns, or spike hyzering up-n-over the bits of clutter.

Roughly 1/3rd of the holes are short, wooded, and flat, with modest shot-shaping requirements.

A decent course, doing well with what resources it hard to work.

+ The whole course is very well upkept and plays within a calm township park. During my session I felt like I could catch my breath here.
+ All holes have solid and sturdy slabs of poured concrete for tee pads. They are on the smaller side but functional nonetheless.
+ All holes have consistent and reliable metal tee signs with pars, distances and clear illustrations on all 18. Quite a few courses out there could learn something from Moore Twp.
+ While it isn't my preferred method, all but two baskets (baskets 3 and 4) have "next tee tape" noticeably wrapped around one of the basket's top spokes accurately pointing the way to the next hole.
+ The course is brief! Even with the time I took to snap a picture of each hole and write down my thoughts about each fairway, my "review round" of all eighteen holes was done in an hour. But...

- ...This course is brief. Golfers expecting a meatier challenge will feel dissatisfied here.
- There is no practice pin or lost disc box. The latter isn't so much of an issue because of the shorter distances and lack of pervasive undergrowth.
- Some of the fairways get really close to each other. The first four holes especially run the (slight) risk of hitting another player during a tournament or on an otherwise crowded day.
- Be aware of the many walking paths that criss-cross the course as well.
- A few of the tee signs display blatantly incorrect pars. The funniest example is hole 18 with its 690-foot par three! Considering how short the rest of the course is, this is a very strange thing to see.

My favorite hole to look at here was hole 9. After a parade of mostly open holes with a peppering of trees from 1 to 8, it was gratifying to see not only a woodsy tunnel but a pin surrounded by two branches of the same peaceful stream. That's when the course started to come alive for me.
My favorite hole to play was hole 12 because it features the course's most constricting tunnel. In a mostly open course like this, it was a welcomed hole to play.
My least favorite hole was 18 because it was the plainest with the fewest obstacles and least interesting to play, despite it being the longest on the whole course.

And that brings me to this review's first major point. It is a short course. Fourteen of the holes are 300 feet or shorter, and six of those are even shorter than 200 feet. It makes for some very interesting ace runs are birdie looks, but the challenge seems to take a back seat here.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing: quite the opposite, in fact. Let me say this right now. Moore Township DGC is by no means a bad course. It does absolutely nothing wrong. The tee pads, while a bit short for my long legs, are pristine. The tee signs are consistent- even if some of their pars are incorrect. The baskets are undamaged and catch well. The grounds are remarkably well maintained. The scenery is calm and relaxing.

But nothing excites the player. It is lovely to look at but not very challenging. For a beginner's course, this is the perfect place because Moore introduces the player to trees and tunnels without throwing a forest at them. It introduces the new golfer to water features without costing them their discs. And it exposes beginners to elevation without sending them to a mountainside. The occasional crazy distance like at holes 13 and 18 seem out of place at a course like this, but they aren't deal breakers and give the new player something to strive for.

If it were earlier in my disc golf journey, I could see myself liking this course more than I do, so I acknowledge how that negatively skews my opinion. However, I know a good course when I play one, and Moore is a good course. It doesn't have the distance or iconic features that some other courses have, but if every course were tough, then there would be far fewer people enjoying our sport.

Bottom lines: It's probably best enjoyed with other people. You and your friends and/or family will have a good time here not worrying so much about the par but about the journey. The course's brevity encourages multiple playthroughs and accelerates confidence in beginners. The aim is not to dominate the course but to coexist with it. Solo and/or serious players might feel underwhelmed or disappointed. Just remember that it's not trying to be a firing range. So, don't treat it like one, and you'll have a good time with Moore Township DGC. Overall recommended.

+ I really like courses that combine wooded and field holes, and Moore really mixes 'em up, with 7 very technical wooded holes (9-12 and then 14-16)

+ Most of the wooded holes tend to be on the shorter side, but they require varied shots. A few of them incorporate a small stream

+ I like a chance to let it rip on the finishing holes, and Moore delivers. 17 asks for a good long forehand, and 18 is almost 700 feet down and across a field

+ Many of the "open" holes have been laid out to use the existing trees to cause you to shape shots, and not get away with wild bombing

+ One very nice touch: big pine trees play a significant part on some of the early holes, most especially #4. And tall pine trees tend to catch discs. You'll find a half dozen 12-15 foot lengths of plastic piping leaning up against the trees on #4 to help you knock down discs. I lost mine, but found a Roc that I was able to return to a guy who lost it two years earlier thrown at South Mountain (South Mountain to Moore Township? That's a hell of a shot!)

- Finding the first tee is a bit of a challenge your first time there. There's a gravel parking lot across the road, so it's easy to access once you've confirmed you're in the right place

- No signs on any of the tees (although the posts are in). I understand this has been the case for a year or two. That's really the only thing missing at this course, but it's important. Without uDisc, I would have thrown at the 17th basket from the 13th tee

- Some of the baskets have arrows pointing to the next tee, but there are a few places where basket-to-next-tee navigation is a bit tricky. Most notable is heading to #14: take the trail back into the woods on the left, or you're going to find yourself backtracking from the 16th basket. But navigation is no problem after you've played the course once

~ Moore Township Park is a good design, it's clean and well-maintained. The lack of signage is really the only negative, so make sure you have juice in your phone to use uDisc

~ Moore is a good course by itself, and it's location gives you the chance to put together a great day: with Yetter Park to the North, or a variety of excellent courses nearer Allentown to the South

Overall a really nice course, would certainly play again one of these days.

Nice easy casual course. If you get beat up at some of the more difficult lehigh valley courses come here to work on your game.

The course layout is fairly compact and very easy to walk which makes it great for casual players and those who want a relaxed atmosphere without a demanding walk. The Course is on probably one of the largest and most beautiful recreational facilities I have seen in the GLVA and it is exceptionally clean with the side benefit of practice areas available using some of the empty soccer fields near the start of the course. The parking situation is good with this property being massive and the local crowd here seems to fall in line with the class act folks I have met throughout the area. As far as difficulty goes this course plays more towards the beginner side but makes for a "My First Big Boy/Girl Course" providing you with a little taste of everything but not really fleshed out enough to the point where it feels you break the beginner friendly theme of the course and that is really the only criticism I can offer and it is not to be taken as a negative. Offering alternate pin/tee configurations to increase the difficulty might open up more potential if this course takes off like I think it will and can always be added later! Being a new course there are some trees that need to grow to open up the intended line (as it stands there are a few holes where the ideal line is to throw a spike hyzer or a scooby over the little trees). As it stands in the configuration I played Moore Township stands out to be a fun and enjoyable experience in an area already saturated with great courses. They also offer weekly dubs which only adds to the list of reasons you should make the trip out. So far I really like it and I hope to see the community embrace it so this course can flourish!
