Short, interesting holes 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 28, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

After browsing some of the other reviews, it seems that I played this course at the perfect time of year. I can see how the overgrowth and the insects would be troublesome during the summer, but in the dead of winter, I found the course to be quite charming. Several clever basket and tee pad choices make this course stand out. From the get go, you're shooting tight tree lines and working your way around some big obstacles, shooting to baskets on slopes and over ponds. Hole 8 was equally scenic and scary.

Cons:

The course layout is a little wonky; it took me a bit to locate 8 and 9. The playability would benefit from clearing out a few of the holes to make them slightly more open, if only for diversity's sake.

Other Thoughts:

It's a shame that this course has such a low score! It provides a good challenge for those trying to improve their short game and work on technical shots. Perhaps if it were better maintained during the warm months, it would be less frustrating for local players.

A Perfect compliment to the other Ft. Wayne Courses 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

The Terrain-Thick Woods, short and technical with water, when there. Three Elavated Baskets, one natural, two man-made. One with a 6' center pole!? First time I've ever played a hole like that. All baskets are in great shape and catch well. 2 or 3 different styles DGA? & Spiderweb? Signage; All tees have signs with basic information.....hole number, par, distance. Color coated Directional signs painted yellow for short tees and black long tees. They are 3' tall post throughout the wooded area of the course. A TRUE TEST of anyone's short technical game! On a few holes the "Fairway" is so tight I thought about throwing my mini for my drive, just for fun.

Cons:

The Terrian-Built on a flood plain. Recent Flooding has large Logs and branches throughout the course. Some of the Footbridges have been washed out of place. The baskets are a little hard to find,Especially for first timers. Yellow paint will go a long way. No numbers on the baskets, but being a short course it's easy to figure out.

Other Thoughts:

The TItle says it all...A perfect compliment to Fort Waynes other courses. Shoaff Park being the longest and most open, and both Sweeney courses coming between Shoaff and Moser, not only in hole distance, but variety. Plenty of parking with a shelter. Timing is everything to enjoy this course. Spring time; after the leaves are in,but not after a spring storm. Fall time; before the leaves fall. Winter time; Frozen ground with no snow. Summer time; A cool and windy day with long pants and DEEP woods off! The Maintenance and up-keep on this course must be on- going, more so than any other course. To everyone involved THANK YOU! One last thing.....print a map!

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 7, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Tightly wooded course offering short tees for the novice or longs for a headache for the novice. Multiple routes through forest like setting. Good for a challenge. If you want a day at the park, go to Shoaff. Offers some very runnable holes in contrast. Wide variety of shots.

Cons:

There is a lot of poison ivy and bugs are plentiful, but it's nothing long pants and a bottle of deet can't fix. There has just been a good amount of clearing done, but the shule here is untamable. Keep an eye on your disc.

Other Thoughts:

The elevated pin was just an effort to mess with the donator. I don't know if I approve, but it's different.
