A great day in the park 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 28, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Note: the course is being modernized--new tee pads and signage coming (2020).

Course:
The regular course is of "pitch-and-putt" length and difficulty for experienced players but a very good course for newer players, with a variety of wooded and open holes, water hazards, and LH and RH fairways. The established course is nine holes with good tee pads but poorly signed.

The local crowd plays multiple course layouts and there are targets that bring the hole count to 18 +/-. The expanded course is challenging for most players, even the "pros."

Atmosphere
The local golf crowd here is very active and friendly, and there is seldom a day that you won't find someone playing "the course." The local club holds a weekly random-doubles tourney at 10:00AM (not 9:59, not 10:01) every Sunday, rain, snow, shine or Christmas holiday (Note: this used to be 12:00 but changed in 2020).

Cons:

Would love to have 18 permanent holes here! While there's a great diversity of challenges (open, wooded, water, OB) there's no elevation change to speak of.

Other Thoughts:

The crowd at Mundy is truly one of the most welcoming groups I've run into. The course "pros" are friendly and take the time to throw with beginners as well as established players, and positive engagement with the non-disc golf community is a priority.
