Fun Course in NE New Mexico

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 8, 2024 Played the course:once

Pros:

There are 2 sets of tees on most holes.
Multiple pin placements.
This course has a good mix of short, moderate, and longer holes.
The flow of the course is logical.
OB on several holes makes the course play tougher for sure.
There are also Mandos to add to the challenge.
The park and course are well kept and there are other amenities here.
The lines are good here and you will have to be able to shape shots in order to score well.
Holes are fair and challenging.

Cons:

Holes 2, 3, 6, and 7 play close to the park roads. Not a huge con, but you might have to wait to throw.
Long walk from 4's basket to 5's pad, 5's basket to 6's tee, and 8's basket to 9's tee slow the flow of the round down a bit.

Other Thoughts:

This is a fun course that uses all the available trees and the 2 ponds in the park very well. Its a nice break from the desert(ish) terrian that you would expect to find. The course has that secluded feel as you are out in the country and away from the hustle and bustle. This course offers a bit of everything and has an elevated basket, an island green on 18, and 3 shots that require you to throw over the aforementioned ponds.
If you are looking for a nice park style course that has that secluded feel then you should play Ned Houk. Its a fun and fair course.
