Pros:
-Great signage and very easy to follow
-Many trees and some water offer a challenge
-Pro and Am tee pad's that provide at least a little distance on some holes

Cons:
-Very short course, i have tried to find out what the hoopla is just not overly impressed
-Too tight, some holes cross and people just walk in fornt drives.
-Did I say short, only hole one has any distance but no trees
-Heavily local which is fine but with that comes attitude

Other Thoughts:
It takes about 35 mins to play a round solo, not challenging enough though there's heavy trees but zero elevation and it gets boring quickly. Spoiled by mountain courses I guess.. Feel liberal giving a 2.5 rating. Cliff and Cypress are better

Nice trees, run of holes along the canal
Other Thoughts:
Another nice Clearwater course, but set up as a different challenge than Cliff Stephens. This course is more in the woods and laid out on less acres than its Clearwater counterpart. Water (canals, not lakes) borders the course on two sides, but only comes into play on a couple of holes. NE Coachman is also shorter than Cliff Stephens, requiring precision over power. The trees aren't too bad though, and the course is well laid out, playing to its strength of Florida forest as much as Cliff Stephens plays to its strength of Florida lakes, without making them overwhelming. Throwing long, low, and straight is the key skill for NE Coachman; the trees demand low throws, and all but a few holes are pretty much so straight-ahead.
Most holes on this course have one set of tees, but some have two, and all holes have at least one long, narrow, concrete teepad. The signs are good and the course isn't too hard to follow. I particularly remember the few holes that play out along the canals, and having to dodge all the beautiful live oaks. The day I played NE Coachman I was torn between going around Cliff Stephens for a second time or playing this one. I made the right choice; it's not as open and dazzling as Cliff Stephens but well worth the trip and a different, complementary challenge.
