Short, Sweet, Straight To The Point

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 28, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Decent distances on most of the holes at this course. Beginners will have to make sure their drive off tee or approach are accurate or take a bogie. Intermediate and advanced level players will have fun running birdies.

- Layout is pretty fluid and easy to follow. I don't think I got lost once and it's a typical IL flat field course so you won't be doing too much walking around looking for the next tee.

- Brand new signs that look good and give the basic information. Although, a picture of the flight path to the basket is always nice but not required on signs.

- Baskets were new Prodigys that caught great but I am not a fan of the weird criss-crossing chains on those ones.

- Grippy, large cement teepads which were great even during the winter time. Hole 9's pad was frozen and was the only hole I had to do a standstill throw on.

- Chance of losing discs is pretty low here unless you throw into the giant fur tree on I believe 2.. or maybe it was one? My disc ended up in the tree behind that one and got wedged up high.

Cons:

- Typical flat Illinois 9er like I said before. Not the most thrilling or challenging course if you're intermediate or above in skill. Biggest challenge is the wind whipping across the field which makes things not so fun.

- Only a few holes had some obstacles so again, the fun factor is pretty low here but that's not to say this one isn't worth playing if you're in the area.

- The area. Middle of nowhere and not really on the way to anywhere. Pretty much one for the baggers.

Other Thoughts:

North Park Disc Golf Course is a decent 9 hole course that will definitely challenge beginners but there's not a whole lot of replay value here. I'd recommend only playing this one before or after the course in Pontiac.
