Pros:
This is a shorter course than I first anticipated. If you like a course you can absolutely throw bombs on than this is not a course for you. This course is more the short-game, finesse kind of play. A lot of Ace opportunities on this course. I like the use of terrain on some of the holes. Even though you don't have to gun your discs out there, you still got to play around the good use of trees to pin placement. Easy if played smart to leave this course with a good score.
Cons:
The first thing I can think of is there are cement tee pads on the front 9 but not the back 9. Even with that being said, the cement tee pads are shorter in length than any other course I've ever played on. They are probably only 6 feet in length. Might not be a problem for some. Guess that just depends how you tee off. I like to get a running start. For the players who just take a step or two and throw this shouldn't be an issue. Some of the basket placement wasn't totally thought out in my opinion. Like said in other reviews some baskets are on muddy hills or up a GOAT hill. To get to some tee pads from previous holes you sometimes got to climb more than one hill. There is a need for a bridge or two and maybe some steps built, ESPECIALLY on #12. Probably a couple sets of steps for that hole alone. Play it and you'll see what I mean.
Other Thoughts:
The front 9 are more of your normal park view exactly what you would think most small park holes would look like. The back 9 are a whole different animal. You can tell a lot of tree/brush clearing has been done to add the back 9 holes. Rather rough terrain. Over time this course will shape up to be a nice little course. I compare play @ North Strabane to be similar to the play @ Schenley Park except a little more on the rugged side. There are big piles of wood and brush throughout the course that kind of gives the park an unkept look probably from the fore mentioned wood/brush clearing. Overall I liked this course when my golf partner didn't. Being this course is 69 miles from my house I don't think that this will be a course I play on a regular basis but definitely a course to hit up a couple times a year.
