Knollwood of Grand Rapids, a little better! 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 14, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

-
Fun and quick. Technical with a good mixture of tight wooded holes and open fairways. Good variety with water and slight hills. Signs are sufficient and the holes are close together so it is hard to get lost.
Good baskets.
Nice scenic park, good landscaping on some of the holes, nice bridges.
Water hazards.

Cons:

-
-Lot's of people.
-Busy park with people walking through fairways, playing basketball and lot's of golfers.
Dangerous set up of course.
-I was constantly looking behind me at the group coming up.
-Fairways are to close for my comfort on some holes with minimal protection and head on collisions possible.
Natural tee pads make spring and rainy days less enjoyable due to mud and slips.
Mando signs gives a big advantage for righties.
(sorry not a fan of mando's!)
Course favors righties.

Other Thoughts:

-
Probably would not play course again. I imagine it is better in the summer when the ground is harder and your not worried about falling.
Try to shoot basket 18 from on top of the cement building for the longest drive of the course! (the kids will cheer you on!)

Old Home Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 20, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good variety of holes. Doglegs, mandos, water holes, and some interesting pin placements. Best singles round is 12 under par between me and my friends and it is always fun to shoot a great score.

Cons:

Look out for the pond on holes 15 and 17, dont hook left on 15 and dont overshoot on 17 because the pond is sick, really sick. Pads are natural and could use some work, especially when wet they are very hazardous.

Other Thoughts:

I used to play this course everyday, sometimes a couple times a day. After acing 9 of the 18 I can say that I learned a lot about my game and disc golf in various weather conditions.

Good course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 26, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Im not gonna get to descriptive but its a good short course. With a group of two people you can easily do all 18 holes in an hour. The scenery is beautiful with a nice creek. The wide open holes add a nice touch. Also this course is a nice confidence booster :)

Cons:

It would be nice if the course is a little more spread out (although nice use of the land they have). There is no where to stop and chill so be prepared to chill on the go.

Other Thoughts:

Over all its a nice course to go out and get in an easy 36. Its nice to get a score of 46 instead of always going to a monster course and getting 80's. The landscape is beautiful.

Fish in a barrel 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 27, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Short course with some technicalities. Heavily wooded but manageable. Great birdie opportunities. hole 9, 10, 11 are nice and open.

Cons:

Gets a little claustrophobic. last few holes are painfully close to water. 3 Mandos. Hard to find.

Other Thoughts:

Favors the right hander. Natural tee pads

Good Mix 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 7, 2007 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

About half the holes are through the woods and the other half are in the open. None are particularly long, although a couple mandos give you a little more challenge. Water comes into play on a couple holes. First and last holes (and #10) have some interesting landscaping, but can be frustrating for approaches and putts.

Cons:

Can be muddy in the spring, and wind can be an issue on the open holes around the turn. Not a fun course for lefties, as almost all the holes favor a right hander, especially the mandos.

Built for a backhander 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 10, 2007 Played the course:never

Pros:

Nice setting. Fairly nice flow to the course. Lots of hole in one opportunities.

Cons:

All the doglegs are to the left. The distances aren't marked at he tees. Dirt and grass tees. Some of the holes are through fairly think woods.

Other Thoughts:

I would like to see a couple holes dogleg to the right just to change things up a bit.
