Great place for a quick game 2+ years drive by

Pros:

This course is well maintained and easy to get to. It's a nice addition to an area desperately needing more courses to grow the sport. There is adequate parking near the first tee and most of the time there aren't many people playing out here. The holes are pretty well designed to offer some variety and tricky shots based on the property they started with. Some of the holes are wide open, one has an elevated basket, another a peninsula green, others water on both sides of the fairway... it's a good mix and quite a lot of fun.

Cons:

Many of the holes surround a large pond that catches wayward shots quite easily. If your accuracy is better than average, you shouldn't have much of a problem. If you struggle with control, many of these holes can be quite dangerous given the baskets proximity to the water's edge. The tees are hard to find and navigation to the baskets can be confusing. There's a handful of extra baskets in the northwest corner of the lot that can be misleading for holes 2 and 3. One of the holes on the backside parallel some private property causing you to jump a fence to get your disc on some tree-kicked drives.

Other Thoughts:

I really enjoy this course. Once you learn the layout it's easy to find your way around, but if you don't know where to go it can be quite frustrating. There's never anyone out here it seems so it's quite relaxing. It's also a very easy course, but given that I'm not very good I have lost quite a bit of plastic in that lake. Hopefully in the future they will take advantage of the rest of the property and add holes 10-18. Easy to play a round here in under an hour.

Scenic and fun 9-holer 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 22, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

* Very nice scenery with the lake and a handful of live oaks
* The three holes playing along lake add some real excitement - accurate drives are a must
* Variety of hole lengths - not just a pitch and putt course, and they've even added a elevated basket to keep things from being too basic
* Breeze off the lake helps keep you (relatively) cool in the south Georgia sun.. and ... thinking optimistically...perhaps blows your discs *away* from a watery death?
* Four practice baskets sit off in a corner; would be a good place to practice putting and approach shots since they are fairly close together

Cons:

* Tees are just grassy areas with survey flags telling the hole number. Those will not last forever, of course, and I would worry with more play erosion might become an issue
* With no signage, the layout is a little confusing especially with the extra baskets out in a field. I made a map with what I believe is the correct layout
* Pretty easy to lose a disc here due to the lake on #s 1,4,9 and #5 could steal a bad throw too
* Being generally open, it's going to be rather warm on the course during the summer months, har har
* Since this is located on church grounds, you probably shouldn't show up when church is underway. Looking on their website, it appears after-school programs may use the course, too. Just showing basic consideration should keep everyone welcome here

Other Thoughts:

This course has the new Prodigy baskets - not really convinced they catch any better than any of the other baskets around but it's interesting to compare them if nothing else.
