Nice noticable objects 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 29, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Course map and scorecard available at camping check in. Tees and objects nicely numbered and stand out in woods. Wasn't hard to navigate. Very scenic park location, with camping if you so wish, and a lake to swim in after your round in the summers.

Cons:

Older course and has grown in some. Holes are long and narrow/overgrown. No course signage.

Other Thoughts:

I showed up before 9 and the park was open and no money taking personal. The course is located at the far end of the swimming lake parking lot. Look for the red capped PVC tee markers. The tees are natural and I didn't find any hard to tee from. The red capped pvc makes them easy to see and they are also numbered. You are throwing to a 6 in PVC also with a red cap and number which makes it stand out quite nicely in the woods. The first two holes are fairly short and you can see the objects from the tee, however the next five you can not, so grab a map on your way in. It wasn't hard to navigate the map will just take the guess work out of it. The fairways for most of the holes are narrow paths mowed into the woods, mostly large bushy trees, and too long and narrow to make any decently long throws. The course par is raised on these holes but given the distance I don't think they should be, I think the holes just need alot of definition. The objects were all uniformed which was kinda nice, and I you shouldn't have to hard a time finding any stray discs. The course is fairly shady in the woods, and bathrooms are located near the swimming area.

It's a shame the park doesn't put some more money into a better current course with baskets. The park is very scenic with the lake and being in the mountains and with camping you could stay a night and play it twice if it was a nice enough course. If you plan on being there anyways check it out.
