Pros:
It was as advertised and indeed Out Yonder. The course is located on Dan's personal slice of Americana. It is secluded and peaceful. The course itself is just ok. There is a mix of holes and some of them were quite enjoyable. On my first play through we played pro tees and there were some challenging holes. 2 tees for most holes and 200% more horse than any course I've reviewed thus far. Dan was also extremely helpful and hospitable in the use of the course.
Cons:
What makes the course scenic is also what make it unforgiving on some holes. Some of the wooded holes require perfection or you will be wading through thorns and brush with the hopes of recovering your disc. There are some pad placements that seem ridiculous in their placement and hard just for the sake of being hard. Not challenging, just pointlessly hard. Don't follow the gps to get here or else you will be driving down a narrow road that the locals dump their trash on.
Other Thoughts:
All in all, its a decent play through but not worth driving too far for. If I lived nearby I would play it on a semi regular basis. I wouldn't recommend it if the weather is either too cold or hot. As the previous reviewer JLingus stated, there is no elevation and on your way there be sure to talk to Dan for direction. When you do, bring a banjo and some moonshine and enjoy a nice round of country disc golf... Out Yonder. Thanks again Dan.
