Over Land

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 16, 2023 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Three holes with sizeable concrete tees and signs marking the distance along with three red and blue Veteran baskets.

Each hole has unique challenge:

-Hole 1 is either a controlled straight shot with an early left finish since the ground slopes away to the back and right or going over the top on the right and spike in. Or you could ace run it.

-Hole 2 is a 295ft long, 15ft wide tunnel with well-placed intrusions into the tunnel making it very tough to reach the full 295ft, a tree's low branches come in about halfway down on the right, and a bush juts in about 50ft from the pin on the left so a smash righty forehand won't get all the way there. Getting to this pin is a tunnel challenge like I haven't seen very often elsewhere.

-Hole 3 is the longest hole, requiring about 370ft of power as it is uphill. The one tree is right in the way of the righty backhand power hyzer line, so some finesse is required.

3's basket loops you nicely back to the start.

Cons:

The tee of 2 is a bit close to the basket of 1, especially with the ground sloping that way, and the basket of 3 is within 20ft of the basketball court.

Other Thoughts:

The only parking is street parking. Make sure to park on the side opposite the park. (…that was quite the sentence.)

This course has no real downsides to the actual play on the course… except that it only has 3 holes. It avoids the neighboring backyards, the other holes, and the other park activities (barring the basketball court) nicely and plays with elevation and finesse. It was a fun stop to add one to the course count, and it definitely isn't just a practice area. If you find yourself on this side of Omaha, you might as well take the 8 minutes and add Overland Hills to your course count as well.
