-Paloma del Sol is a 9-hole course at the well-maintained Corte Cabrera Park in Temecula, CA. The park includes a basketball court, tennis court, a large playground, several paths, and plenty of green grass.

-The course makes the maximum use of the land available. Holes range from short pitch shots to driver shots. #1 is the longest hole at 326 ft. Holes 1 and 9 share a basket.

-The signs are among the best I've seen, including a map and distance of the current hole, park guidelines and information, and a course map.

-Most holes play open with the basket next to a few trees. Hole #7 is easily the most challenging hole, demanding a low, straight tunnel shot of 300 feet, slightly downhill.

-Older reviews mention blind, dangerous holes. The course has been re-routed so that no holes play blind anymore. However, several holes still play dangerous. Almost every hole plays over one or multiple walking paths. Additionally, hole 1 plays directly over the basketball courts, hole 4 plays within range of the playground, and hole 7 requires a low line drive, not the safest shot in a multi-use park. Finally, every hole could be made unusable by a picnic or a soccer game. Don't come expecting to play every hole.

-The course plays great for a forehand or left-handed player. Holes 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9 all set up very well for a left-to-right shot.

-It's a suitable but not great course for beginners. The holes are short to moderate in length, but the possibility of hitting someone with a sideways shot is too high.

-This is a great practice course. It's unlikely that all 9 holes will be playable at any given time, so making a safari layout as you go or bringing a box of discs for practice are great ideas.

Paloma Del Sol DGC is located in Temecula California in a residential park. This course plays on the outskirts of Corte Cabrera Park. This course has changed its layout a few times over the years. Now this park plays nowhere near you can lose a disc by throwing over the fence.

I would assume this course gets fairly crowded because of soccer games. Right now it is not very busy due to Covid-19. There was hardly anyone there except for a few people playing basketball as well as a few locals. Paloma Del Sol plays in a park with houses backing straight up to the park. Grip locking your disc is possible but it used to be more common back when the route of the course was different.

Paloma De Sol has Lightning DB-5 baskets which I have never heard of but apparently are not to bad. These baskets for what they are only have 1 layer of chaining which is not ideal for the center pole spit outs.

This is one of the best signage and tee signs I have ever seen on a Disc Golf Course. Every hole there are different sign that shows you a picture with a arrow pointing to where the basket is. To me it looks like a display case showing an aerial view of the hole and a stand still pic from the tee. Signage A++

For nine holes they really maximized space at this park. Most of these holes are fairly challenging although there are some exceptions and short holes.

Pictures are very outdated and they have changed the layout of this course. Hole 4 and 8 are my favorite holes at this course. Hole 4 is a short but fun technical hole that plays around a huge tree. Hole 8 is a crush to the basket. The only problem with this one is that the light pole is right in the way of a nice turn over.

Some holes on this course play right next to the sidewalk. Pedestrians are very common at this nice park with all the residential homes around here. Also with the basketball courts right in front of the first tee it is hard to avoid not going over them.

These very uncommonly seen baskets can get some nasty spit outs. Only one layer of changing which is not the greatest considering that most baskets have 2. Hole 1 on the map might be a little confusing to find.
Hole 1 is near the basketball courts at the far end of the park.

Holes 1 and 9 share baskets which is not the best because all of these holes cross with other holes which might be very chaotic sometimes. Lots of holes cross between each other which is not great because I assume on a normal summer day there would be people in the field playing as well as soccer games.

This is a great road stop course and is not to far of the highway. Most of the holes here are pretty good but I would play this course while there are no soccer games or other activities going on because I found that it is best to play here during quarantine.
This disc golf course has gotten much better in the past years. I am pretty sure neighbors complained that they had discs in their yard because they have re routed this course 1 or 2 times.

Personally I like the fact that they have nice tee pads and baskets and they were able to make this course a reality. Interesting location because a residential park with a disc golf course does not really mix.

- the grass and fields are well manicured. You will not lose a disc unless you pitch it into the bushes or a tree.

- There are some pedestrians so you have to wait till "all clear" or you have a free range shot.

-sometimes kids will pay soccer on the two fields, or climb in the basket, making it difficult to play a full 9 of golf.

This course is definitely improving alongside HOA. They want to make it a great course and they are on the right track.

It needs a bathroom.

If you have to wait for the walkers or bike riders, just practice putting at the hole. Unless you are walking from a long distance hole to tee-pad.

-The course of well kept. Gardening is done once or twice a week. Update : 12/16 a gardener returned one of my discs.

The layout has been updated. I will try to amend the map online, and quickly post the 10 hole layout all the locals have been playing lately. Very, fun and challening.

1st hole starts out in the same place. It is a challenge to try to throw on path, in the middle of the lights, for a perfect flight path. Sometimes discs will fade hard left and land right next to a small tree, right near the basketball court. Then you will get a perfect hit and it will run straight in a path and fade a little right in front of the sidewalks.

2-3 they changed.

4th puts you in a challenging position to make anhyzer drives that can curve and eventually balance out in the middle of the grass to create a nice putt scenario.

5th is another anyzher drive. The putts at this hole can be challenging as there are two trees positioned on a hill;the basket lies right above a low-lying tree at the top. This is a hazard though, because people can be riding skateboards or bikes down the paths above the entire area.

6th changes, and brings you up to the top of the left-hand sidewalk. This is a great hole for trying aces. It's essentially and ace hole with how close, but the depth creates the illusion of a throw going to fast. Putts virtually easy. Sorry for bending the top.

7th is the throw from the star by the trashcan. Another anhyzer scenario. Like 5, the putts at this hole have low-lying trees.

8th Starts at the cul-d-sac and drives are mixed. Another low-lying tree spot depending on the lie after you throw your drive.

9th THIS HOLE PISSES ME OFF. I try throwing a Beast 171 gram and a Wraith 170g disc at this basket and I either A. Nick the chains (a couple times) B. Hit the pole at the top and bounce back (a little of times), C. Hit just a tensy tinsy bit over the chans and land virtually next to the basket. I had one today that had the PERFECT arc and it was looking like it was going to do one of those sink DUNKS. OH MAN, I WAS EXCITED. IT HIT THE DEAD TREE that looks like its positioned right in the middle for a reason. CUT THAT TREE DOWN.

-it's spaced inside a park and people like to unleash dogs. (even with a no leash sign)

-the tennis court does not open so be careful of throwing on hole 4. I have lost two discs because of the locked gate. There is no way of getting around it.

-sometimes kids will pick up discs.

Paloma Del Sol is a lovely little community park featuring basketball courts, two children's play areas and a walking path which meanders the perimimter of the park. This path and it's countless pedestrians is probably one of the main problems concerning the disc golf course. There seems to be a never ending stream of people walking their dogs and stopping to chat, usually near the baskets.

The tees are marked on the sidewalks with a star with the hole number in the center. The # 1 star is faded and impossible to read. Even with the map, I had a difficult time navigating this course. The baskets are new, single chain models. I liked # 3. It's an anhyser throw, maybe 225', around some trees to a basket kinda set in the corner of a grassy area. # 5 was a longer anhyser throw. I chose to roll here as a group of ladies were chatting near the basket and I did't want to risk hitting them. After 5, a lightly painted arrow directs you to # 6. The park is well lit making it suitable for night play.

I'm agreeing with mashnut here that # 6 is truly one terribly designed hole. It's a blind hyser throw down a sidewalk with neighbors yards on both sides. So first you have the chance of hitting someone walking or running up this sidewalk and secondly, if would be easy for any inexperienced player to launch his disc over into someone's backyard.

There are too many other opportunities for discs to end up in neighbors yards.

The course is difficult to navigate.

I would have shortened this course considerably, made it a true pitch and putt. This would have greatly reduced the risk of anyone getting hit. It would have made it easier to navigate and would have made it easier to design holes where discs were not flying into the neighbors property.

Experienced players aren't coming here anyway so why not make it a true beginners course?

UPDATE: All the recent reviews have stated that there is now signs and some problematic holes have been redesigned. With this is mind, I'll upgrade my score to a 2.0. If given the chance to play the course again (very doubtful) I'd consider an even higher rating.

good practice course. Long holes, curves, slopes. Lots of green and you can bring your dog.

The course is in the middle of a neighborhood park. Lots of children around and people who will just play at random baskets with no respect for other peoples games. Too close to houses on one and you are shooting right at a basketball net that kids are normally playing on.

The park has enough space to make this a better course. I hope they look at how mountain pride handled a similar layout issue and use the space creatively.

if you get distracted easily, you will not enjoy this course, but it is good practice if you look out for traffic.

The course plays through a beautifully maintained neighborhood park with manicured grass and no signs of trash or vandalism. There are lights throughout making night play easy here. All the tees are on sidewalk, so they're level and plenty fine surfaces to throw from.

A couple baskets are placed close enough to trees that you have to think a little about how to place your drive or approach. Two holes offer longer shots where many players will be able to pull out a driver. This park seems to be popular with folks from the surrounding neighborhood, so it's going to expose a lot of new people to the sport.

It's always disappointing when a course that has the potential to bring a lot of new players into the sport is so poorly designed. There are enough long holes to frustrate many beginners without enough challenge for it to be an appropriate course for more skilled throwers. The tees are not obvious, without a map you'd never be able to play the layout as designed especially with hole 6 hidden down a path away from the rest of the course.

Hole 6 is also a ridiculous shot that's not worth the extra walk, it has no legitimate line to the pin and is the worst hole on the course for bringing backyards into play. Several other shots do have the same possibility, and every single hole plays along or over walking paths with multiple shots into blind areas where pedestrian traffic is likely.

Three holes play across one another, and a few more play right on top of each other adding to the safety concerns. Two holes play right next to tennis courts, two others play over or next to a basketball court and one has a playground right where shots from newer players are likely to hyzer out. The course as marked has basically all straight or right to left turning shots which means it gets a bit repetitive. Two of the tees are placed right next to posts or bike racks, making it impossible to throw from the marked spot without taking the chance of breaking your hand.

Beginners can have some fun here, though a few of the holes are too long for a course that seems to be aimed at that demographic and less accurate players will make the safety issues worse. More experienced players will find some nice safari options, this can be a nice practice area when there aren't too many other people using the park and walking paths.

It's really sad to see an opportunity to put in a great 6 hole beginner course and instead there's a 9 hole crammed in and awkwardly laid out course that's not well designed for any skill level and full of safety concerns.
