Marking this as an 18 hole course is deceptive. It is a 9 hole course with an A pad and B pad. No more than 9 groups can play at a time.

Minimal signage (feet par and hole number) on most holes.

Not a lot of variety, every set of holes featured a straight shot and a right turn shot, mostly wide open with a few bushes in the way.

Course was very busy with pedestrians, even at dawn.

Course is well set up for 850-900 rated players. much over 900 and the holes are all tweeners between a 2-3, under 850 and the road becomes a safety issue.
For being so wide open, it was interesting how many baskets were blind.

1&10: short and open. 1 is a slight right, while 10 is more straight.
2&11: again, short and open with one being a slight right while the other is straight.
3&12: features a blind basket, 60 foot difference between holes.
4&13: 4 has road on the right, 13 has blind basket. about 75 feet difference in length according to signage.
5&14: 5 is a right shot over a bush, 14 is a big anny shot directly at a road straight ahead (or small window over bushes).
6&15: one of the better holes on the course. 6 has 2 paths, 15 is a wide tunnel shot turning to the right.
7&16: 7 is an over the bush shot, 16 forces you to go high with a bush in front of the tee.
8&17: 8 is 335 blind shot, but wide open. 17 is another right turn shot.
9&18: 9's fairway plays very close to the road on the left. a decent long drive that fades left can easily bounce into traffic. 9 is a simple deuce or die hole. 18 is a massive right just to attempt to land on 9's fairway.

Nice amenities. This course has a baseball field and public park attached, so there are real bathrooms and vending. The course is built around the outer edge of a traffic circle, so it is always well maintained. Also, the addition of two tees per basket makes the course slightly more complex. There is good signage, and the tees are nice concrete and are in good condition.

The course is good for what it is, but it can't make up for some of the cons. The main one: it is in a traffic circle. Other than between hole 5 and 6, you have to cross a road between every hole. And these road have common traffic. Also, a stray disc can drift off of the course and hit a house/car window. Losing a disc is no fun, but breaking a window is expensive. The extra tees on each hole are not far apart, and other than driving from a different angle make the 18 hole variation of the course feel like playing the first 9 twice. The course is also very short. Most experienced players could get a birdie on every hole.

This course is not bad for a neighborhood course, but there are other options around that are much better. I frequent the course on the naval weapons station, and it is less than ten minutes away. It is more of a course, but this one is not bad for practice, espcecially for putters.

This is a decent course in a really unique location. Are there any other courses set completely within a giant traffic circle? While it is unique, I don't know that I would advocate for more courses to be built in traffic circles.

I'm a big believer in playing courses that match your ability. I don't enjoy playing super-challenging, long, tightly wooded courses -- even if they are pro-caliber -- because I'm not good enough to play the course how it's meant to be played. Park Circle is a course that beginners and intermediate players will enjoy. While I am not a fan of the traffic circle concept, the course itself is nice. There are typical lowcountry trees, flowers and vegetation -- enough to pose a challenge, but not enough to make it an overly difficult course for the types of players who are likely to play here.

Navigation isn't an issue at all...just keep walking around the circle!

Constant traffic noise and having to cross the road a bunch of times during the round: does this sound relaxing? You don't realize how much the peaceful, serene settings of most disc golf courses add to the enjoyment of the game until you play a course surrounded by a traffic circle.

If you live in Charleston or visit the area, this course is worth playing. However, based on reviews I've read of nearby courses, there are better options in terms of challenge and, especially, serenity.

most fairways are pretty open, no mandos or close trees to the tees. All of the open space makes drives fairly easy. No crazy hard shots at all. Definitely not an advanced course. Big plus is that it is hard to lose a disc. No water hazards.

9 baskets, 18 tees. surrounded by roads on both sides, all of the time. So, you might pop a car if you're not careful. Some of the yardages didn't seem accurate, but whatever. All tees are concrete, but many of them were cracked and busted.

Great exposure for disc golf, since it's in a very busy public park. The disc golf course surrounds the rest of the park, so many park patrons notice the disc golfers and may peak their interest to try the game out.

A one of a kind design, since it's a big circle. This means you can basically start at any hole, given that you will ultimately come right back where you started. This also provides dealing with wind conditions from all angles, that should ultimately help your game.

Two nice concrete tee pads per the nine baskets, with accompanying tee signs, providing basic hole and distance information. There is a very small chance of losing a disc here.

The course and park were beautiful and well maintained. Grass was mowed, nicely landscaped and very clean. Restrooms at the community center.

Due to the fact there is only nine baskets, when the course gets crowded, the pace of play comes to a standstill. Back ups on each hole, and there isn't really a place to bypass a slow group in front of you. Also, if there is an activity at the community center, parking will be more difficult, and non disc golfer could wander on the course.

As mentioned many times, you have to cross the street between most holes. This isn't ideal if you are playing with children. During rush hour, you need to be extra careful.

Most holes seem too similar. The basic difference between the duel tees is the angle to the basket, for the most part. Holes are also restricted on their length by the roads surrounding them.

A really bad shot could potentially end up in the street, especially for new players or on really windy days. Watch here at the 3:47 mark for the perfect example.

The unique design of the big circle is interesting, you won't play on many of these. It's more of a beginner to intermediate course, since the available land can't produce longer holes. It's a perfect course to bring new players too, or play a quick round before your child's ball game starts.

The potential exposure this course can bring to new players is it's best asset. Not too difficult or time consuming for new players, which should encourage them to come back again and again.

It's great urban disc golf. With nine baskets and eighteen tees, the course flows well from hole to hole, and it's in a pretty urban park with plenty of amenities. Who ever came up with the idea of putting a course here should be commended, because it fits great in the space. Compared to the other courses in the area, it's the one that has the least chance of losing a disc, being as open as it is, and having no water in play, and overall it's an enjoyable experience.

There are lots of birdie opportunities to be had, if you can hit your lines. A little variety of left, right, and straight holes are represented at Park Circle. Once again, I'll say that the course is a great fit into the available space, and excellent use has been made of the available land, what there is of it.

The holes seem repetitive at times due to the course's location around the outside of a great big traffic circle with a park in the middle. I would have also liked a little more variety on the lengths. Most every hole seemed to be about the same distance, and the distances listed on the tee signs were often very wrong. This could have been due to alternate pin positions being in play, but that should also be noted on the signs, if you're going to go to the trouble of putting distances up on a sign. Also, not really a con, just a heads up for those not so navigationally inclined, I missed a hole (6/15) when I went back after six months to play it a second time. I found it a couple days later, the third time through, though.

I was not a fan of the tees. Even though they were concrete, most were too small for my tastes, and many had an "ankle roll waiting to happen" drop off at the front. About two to three more feet of concrete at the rear of the pads would have been great, even if a few of the pads were on the narrow side. One pad was pretty broken up and in rough shape.

You are always playing relatively near a road, not enough to really influence your throw, but near enough to possibly be an issue on a really errant throw. You never have any sense of seclusion, or being out in nature on the course, due to the location, and proximity of the roads.

There were only a couple of benches and trash cans out on the course, and as already mentioned, the tee signs were often less than accurate on the distance. There are restrooms, a playground, baseball fields, picnic tables, and other amenities in the middle of the park, which the course plays around. I would recommend plenty of sunscreen for the warmer months, as open as it is. It's easy to locate, not too far from I-26 or I-526, with lots of convenience stores and fast food nearby.

Random observation: two of the three times I've been there, I've gotten caught waiting on a long, slow train on Montague Avenue, once on the way in and once on the way out.

Park Circle is a nice course, and fun to play. I'm sure I'll end up playing it again at some point, but while it's a good course to hit up if you're in the area, it's not a destination worthy course.

I like the fact most fairways are open making it a fun course to let it rip off the tee. Like the fact that there are multiple tee boxes for each hole, in a sense making it an 18 hole course.

The par for each hole is set at 3 and that seems to work on most holes, but there are a couple that should be a 4. Not all tees are concrete.

I think the course could be better if all tees were concrete and not dirt.

Very cool, unique course setup. Course loops around a traffic circle. Holes play on 8 grass islands between roads. #5 & 6 share an island, other 7 holes play on island.
- 9 baskets with 2 sets of tees gives course 18 holes. As of the end of 2009, all tee pads are now concrete, which is a huge improvement over the dirt tees.
- Each tee pad has a sign making it easy for the first timer to distinguish between 1/10, 2/11, etc. The signs are simple, listing only the hole # and distance. One slight problem is the tee signs only list one distance, so when the baskets are in the alternate positions, the signs are wrong.
- Course is wide open, so you can let it rip. No holes longer than 400 feet.
- Good course to practice throwing, so long as you're not throwing drives 400 ft+.
- Holes are close to each other, so you can easily get a quick round in.
- For such a flat, open course, it takes a good combination of length and accuracy for birdies.
- Park's main rec building in middle of traffic circle has restrooms, water fountains and soda machines.

Holes are all relatively similar, mainly all being flat and none being overly difficult. Kind of difficult to get much elevation at a low-country coastal course.
- No signs for holes. Doesn't pose much of a problem on most holes because of the way the course is laid out. Only a couple holes (#1 long - basket hidden behind shrubs & #7 regular - basket also hidden in shurbs/behind trees) would pose a problem for FTPers.
- Tee pads are shorter than normal, which can pose a problem for taller players or those with long run-ups.
- Most of the alternate tees don't give much change in shots from original tee pad. Most are only moved to the left/right/back by 50 feet, so essentially you're throwing the same tee shot on these holes. It's not a major problem, and it's mainly due to lack of space.

No water on course, so only way to lose disc is in big, thick bushes/shrubs. Some of the bushes are really deep, so you may be searching for errant throws for awhile.
- Lack of many trees results in lots of sun, not that shade is going to provide much help during the hot & humid summer days.
- Biggest obstacle on course is wind. On windy days, you better keep shots low, or they'll sail away. Even 10 foot putts become challenging in windy conditions.
Wind changes directions as you make your way through course.
- To make up for lack of obstacles, some pins are placed right up next to bushes. On #5 for example, you can be 10 feet from the basket, but have to loft the disc over the bushes to reach basket the basket, thus turning a sure birdie into a more likely par.
-- Grerat course to introduce newcomers to game. For all the times I've played the course, it's never been crowded or backed up, allowing time for newbies to play without slowing others down.
- Park gets decorated for Christmas. Only course I've played that's been lit up by Christmas lights or had to worry about hitting a Santa display.
- I always play it when I'm in town. It's not as difficult as Trophy Lakes or tight/wooded as West Ashley, but it's perfect for a nice, relaxing round.
