Pros:
- the course is now a full 18 baskets (at the time of the original course review from early 2009, it was just 9)
- the views are stunning; especially from the 3rd tee, when you've got a sweeping view of a 6,000 foot mountain range
- fairly intuitive to find your way along the course; maps of each hole near the tee are pretty reliable
- the baskets are still moved from time to time to keep the course layout fresh
Cons:
- course can get brutally hot during the day in summer; you want to play in the early morning or at dusk if at all possible; fall, winter, spring, conditions are pretty much okay anytime
- you need to watch out on the weekends; this is a heavily used park on those days, and no pedestrian minding their own business wants to get clocked in the head; between the tee and basket on a lot of the holes, there are heavily-used walking paths
Other Thoughts:
- this is a great course. I live in Monterrey, so I play it a lot. It's also probably the only course for a 100+ miles in any direction
- there obviously aren't many courses in Mexico, and this one is the country's first; if for whatever reason you find yourself in Monterrey, set aside a morning and afternoon and make the trip; the course is in Rufino Tamayo, a nice park in the Monterrey suburb of San Pedro Garza Garcia, less than 10 minutes from downtown
- there is a good amount of parking right near the first tee
