Short & Not-So-Sweet

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 9, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

- This town doesn't have a whole lot in terms of disc golf aside from the surprisingly decent 18er at a private camp so this is a decent place to warm up or test out new discs / practice your form while also being able to throw at actual baskets.

- The layout isn't the worst I've seen. They could've totally just put six baskets in a circle and called it a day but you can tell whoever designed the layout at least put some effort into not making it an absolute snooze fest.

- If you're a course bagger, this is an extremely fast and easy one that shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes depending on how quick you like to get in and out.

- Beginner friendly. This would be a good place to introduce a little brother, younger cousin, son, or anyone in the 5-13 age range to the sport. Very low chance of losing discs, extremely short distances and actual lines to practice.

Cons:

- The baskets are odd locally made ones with extremely displeasing baskets at the bottom that are very weak and I don't think will last that long. They weren't the worst in terms of how they catch discs but they are certainly far from good.

- Boring. Just six baskets basically in a field with the exception of the last hole which is a 180 foot tunnel shot with the sign indicating it's a left dogleg but in actuality the basket is literally dead straight ahead. Which leads me to my next con..

- The signs. Sure, they were not so bad in terms of how they looked and the information they give.. except most of the lines shown on the drawings were very inaccurate.

- Grass teepads but I mean, honestly this course having cement ones would've been absolute overkill. They honestly don't need 'em but it's again always nice to have something there.. even if it's gravel.

Other Thoughts:

There's really not much here honestly but hey, it's always great to have another course in an area that probably doesn't have a big disc golf scene.

As stated above, this would be a great place to take a younger person and teach them the basics of how to throw a disc properly. Or just a place to run some aces while your in town for your cousin's uncle's sister's grandmother's wedding.
