The course is located in a scenic park and several of the holes are played by softball fields and soccer fields and along walking paths.

There is a great mixture of trees, slopes, and open holes. The woods shots are not impossible and there are plenty of birdie, and even a couple eagle opportunities.

Each hole is clearly marked, the tees are in great condition and there is a sign with the hole layout, distance, and par for each hole.

Just about impossible to lose a disc on this course unless you roll one into the pond.

The course is great for a beginner as far as length and open shots, but for anyone with more experience, the course is short. Most of the holes only average 200 feet, with the longest not even touching 300 feet. Therefore, if you are looking for a challenge or improving your game, this wouldn't be a course for you.

Excellent course for beginners. And for all others, it is still a nice course to play where everything is laid out nicely and kept up. And it'll be a confidence booster when you tally up your score! Will definitely visit again!

Well maintained but the length kills this course. 18 holes feel squeezed in to the park. Would not recommend anyone travel any distance to play this course.

Beautiful, well kept course. Grass was mowed on fairways and looked great. Lots of amenities, clean bathrooms at the beginning and the end of the course. Benches and trash cans sprinkled about. At least two very nice playgrounds for kids. This is also the absolute best FTF (First Time Friendly) course I have ever played! Each hole was easily marked and flowed perfectly from one hole to the next. If you ever get confused, take a breath and look around the next tee is not hard to find even in the woods. Concrete tee pads! Good mix of clear and wooded holes.

Short! Most holes are Ace shots, and even the difficult ones are birdable and a three at worst. If you are looking to grip and rip, this isn't the course for you. Other than the lack of distance its hard to find issue with this park.

An excellent time of DG to be found here, but not much of a challenge for a seasoned player. I'm probably intermediate at best so it was great, but for a pro it may be too easy. Can't stress enough what a great park this was located in. Tennis courts and baseball fields line the DG course along with picnic areas. Just a perfect place to take the family. Easy enough that they can join you for a round or just a super park to entertain the kids and Mom while you play a fast round!

Some Fav Holes: 8)Nice use of elevation, basket up on a hill. 9) Ace shot if there ever was one. Do not overthrow! 11)Tight, Tight fairway with trees lining everywhere! Roots all over the putting area to increase the difficulty. Note: The wooded holes here really hate the BH! You have to at least have a bit of a FH or it will be a long day! Be warned with no FH an easy course will eat your lunch.

- Advanced players will love the ace and birdie runs.
- Beginners will get to work on the basics of the game and have a lot of fun as well.
- You can use most throws on any hole, I've seen people hammer the whole course.
- Concrete pads with good signs on every hole.
- Great use of elevation, ranging from extreme uphill to moderately downhill.
- Good mix of hyzers, annies, and straight shots.
- Easy to get multiple rounds in very quickly, shortest round I've gotten in without running is 25 minutes.
- Good mix of open/wooded holes (about half & half)
- Bathrooms between #18 and #1 with water fountain.
- Trash cans throughout the course.

- Pond that comes into play on #6 and #10, if it goes in there, most likely, you're not getting it back.
- Hole #5's easiest throw for a RHBH is a easy hyzer over a walkway and near a pavilion, so you have to pay attention to other park-goers.
- Hole #6's tee is located right next to one of the baseball fields, which I've seen people use as a place to set up their chairs.

- The best place to park is the parking lot by the tennis courts that you get to by using the Ivy Creek Lane entrance (170 Ivy Creek Lane).
- #1's tee from the parking lot is past the tennis courts and pavilion.

:: Hole Notes ::
#4 - If you've got a flick (RHFH), use it to get through the trees and have it fade towards the basket.
#5 - The absolute ideal shot in my opinion would be a RHFH flick that would annie and then come back towards the basket at the end, but generally just use the big easy hyzer route.
#6 - For a RHBH, either a long annie or a flick would work, just don't overshoot the hole to the right, otherwise the pond comes into play.
#7 - One of the more difficult tee shots on the course, keep it going from left to right the whole time and you'll be fine.
#8 - A hammer up the hill will work every time.
#10 - Hammer works here as well.
#11 - A spotter on this hole wouldn't be a bad idea, you get bad rolls often. If you can land it to the left side of the basket, you'll have a good chance for the 2.
#16 - Either a flick on the left side of the fairway or an accurate backhand through the trees on the right work well.
#17 - I've seen rollers work on this hole, but a hyzer around all of the trees over the garden is the easiest shot for me.
#18 - A low soft backhand through and under the trees put you right near the basket. Just watch the hill to the right as it'll roll all the way back to 17's tee if you're not careful.

Nice signs and concrete teepads at each hole. Fairly natural flow, easy for a first-time visitor to navigate, even w/o a map. Decent mixture of open and wooded holes, many moderate elevation changes.

Located in very nice, multi-purpose park with bathrooms and waterfountains near tee #1/basket #18.

Being a multi-purpose park, you'll have multi-users there, some of which will be crossing your path on holes 1-6.

Open holes (which do include some trees to deal with) 1-6, 17-18 have a distance range of 180'-290', average being 240'. Wooded holes 7-16 have a distance range of 120'-175', average being 150'.

Navigation:
- Park near bathroom just before tennis courts, tee #1 is just below far back corner of these courts.
- First three holes all go in the same direction, down and across the slope.
- Hole 4, make a hard right, nearly doubling back on yourself. #5 flows in the same direction.
- Hole #6, turn left - you'll be throwing across the hillside, softball field to your left, other parking lot to your right.
- Following wooded-holes 7-16 is straightforward.
- #17 is just outside the woods, to the left, then cross the drive for #18 and throw a hard, but not long, left, leaving you near the bathrooms and parking lot.

This course would be very good for beginners - the holes are on the short side, the wooded holes, except for #16, have fairly wide throwing paths, and there is minimal chance to lose a disc - no thick underbrush. Experienced players can have fun working on their approach game and going for birdies.

My previous home course (since before the baskets went in). Plays very short and very quick. Was designed, intended to be beginner friendly but still provides a *bit* of challenge to experienced players wanting to work on their short game.

Man this review went in before the pros and cons section. . . well, and I just got back to Lynchburg to play it a few times. It has definitely aged well.

Course is short, easy to do three or four rounds a day. The city keeps good care of the course making sure that it stays nice. This is a good course to develop your skills and enjoy a quick game. There are many holes which can be aced with ease, almost all can be birdied.

Course weaves in and out of a public park. Many in this area are not aware of disc golf, therefore they sit, play, etc. in the middle of the course. Some of the baskets are old and the baskets have rusted and are barely connected to the pole. The course does get very muddy with rain or after rain.

Hole #1- Moderately easy. Over 200 feet, slight right. Power throwers can easily birdie this hole.
Hole #2- Par 4, another easy hole. Power throwers again should be able to get a birdie or ace this one. There used to be a huge three blocking the path, but lightening go it.
Hole #3- First hole I ever aced. Straight shot to the whole, about 160 feet.
Hole #4- There are trees blocking the path to the hole. This one can be birdied, but it is difficult to do so.
Hole #5- A tree blocks a straight throw to the hole, but you can hyzer it and get close to the basket. The hole is near a pavilion so you have to watch out for people.
Hole #6-Last hole before you enter the woods. The basket is over a hill and to your right. A strong anhyzer will putt you in a good spot for an eagle.
Hole #7- Follow the path to the hole, or go straight through the woods. Hole is made for a left handed thrower.
Hole #8- Basically straight uphill. The elevation change make the hole difficult to judge.
Hole #9- Over a slight hill, but basket is visible. An ace is a real possibility on this hole.
Hole #10- Watch out for the water trap to the right. The hole is on a hill which leads right to the water. This hole is an easy birdie.
Hole #11- Enter hole is on a steep slope. Don't be surprised if your first throw rolls down the hill.
Hole #12- The is a tree that curves right into your path (it's been hit MANY times). Avoid that and you are in good shape for a birdie.
Hole #13- Throw a roller on this hole or a slight anhyzer. Easy stuff.
Hole #14- Avoid the trees, and you can get an easy ace.
Hole #15- Basket is slightly to the left. Another hole where an ace is a good possibility.
Hole #16- This hole is blocked by many trees. Basically throw it however you prefer and hope it gets to the hole.
Hole #17- You are now out of the woods. Longest hole on the course. For those with power an eagle is very possible.
Hole #18- Get through the trees and the basket is on the side of a hill. Don't throw a roller or you'll end up at the bottom of the mammoth hill!

good course for beginners and the player who wants a lot of tricky approach shots. it's a nice course to just go play a relaxing 18 on. well laid out, with all but 2 tees immediately obvious after finishing the previous hole. Every tee is concrete, with solid maps, even when you can't see the basket you know exactly where it is. it's extremely fun to play

it's in and among the middle of the park. I've hit numerous things, including people, dogs, cars, and i've had numerous people that have no idea what disc golf is mess with my disc, not to mention people that take 10 minutes to play every hole. one of these things happen probably every 10 rounds I play though, so it's not that often. Also, the sewage pond on 10 is pretty nasty to lose a disc in (I almost lost my roc in it once-that would have been a day of mourning)

This is my home course that I have played well over 100 rounds on. that sounds ridiculous, but 8 rounds per week on it adds up quick. I've made up a second set of tees to make it more difficult, because most tees have a path behind them. The people aren't all that annoying, plus it's a great course to improve your approach game on. 1-easy downhill to uphill approach shot that bends slightly right. 2-wide open 275 straight shot with two big pines guarding the pin for us right to left throwers. THere use to be a huge tree right smack in the middle of the fairway that made this hole difficult, but it died a little over a year ago. 3-branches guard a low hammer from the tee, but it's easily the most accurate throw on this hole, as most other shots will leave you in bad putting position or create a huge roll for ya. 4-the hole is up the hill on the right, but tough to get to. the easiest path for a birdie is straight through and then putt it 20 feet up a hill-going through the trees on the right of the tee is risky at best. 5-either a small hyzer shot or a small 2 curve will work, although it's the toughest hole to birdie-and the longest at only 290. 6-just over the crest of the hill, one of my friends aced this hole before he ever saw the basket. 7-somehow this was the first hole i ever aced. you've got to either throw a high, high hyzer right or a quick left to right curving throw that flattens out after 50 feet. 8-straight up the hill. all you have to do is miss the trees and you've got a good birdie putt (the basket is broken on this hole because of wear and tear). 9-right over the hill, shortest hole in the course. be careful not to roll-i've got 100 feet past the hole before. 10-just don't go in the sewage pond. 11-this hole will put 3 strokes on your score if you're not careful. just play it straight, and don't roll down the hill. 12-this hole is uphill, but the putting area is a downhill slope, so be sure to let it slide up to the hole. 13-easy, 150ish hole. stay a little left, and you've dropped a (or another) stroke. 14-keep it straight or go right with some hyzer. 15-play it short, and let the discs natural hyzer take over-this hole is all about touch. 16-you can go right, straight, or left, but neither way is that good. take a good look before you throw this one. 17-not the longest, but the furthest hole since it's uphill 20 feet or so. this one can be tricky, but it's got a good path. The pines guard the hole, but if a straight shot naturally hyzers at the very end, it'll slide right below the pin. 18-this hole is wierd. through the trees, left 50 feet, and on the side of a huge hill lies this hole. just don't roll (it's a good 150 feet to the bottom of the hill back near the sewage pond.) Good luck, it's a great course to shoot your best score ever on!

It's in a lovely manicured city park. The course design is well thought out utilizing the grounds as much as the designers could. I really enjoyed the back nine playing up and around the small mountain/hill. These holes are short, technical shots with plenty of ace possibilities there. But you can still get in trouble on them and I still didn't rack up any aces.

The front nine play through the high-usage park area so be careful of pedistrians, dogs, bicylists, ballplayers, etc. There are no big air holes for you big arm gents.

I'd love to live near this course! This would really be a fun little home course. Between the ace possibilities and the elevation throws on the back nine, I found Peaks View Park to be one enjoyable throw in the park.

Good course for the beginner, or for casual rounds for the more advanced. Scenic, good amenities, easy access.

Peaks View is a fine example of a recreational course. Set in a large park, it has a good mix of open and wooded holes, concrete tees and signage throughout.
The principal problem with this course is it's length. The course is shoehorned in among the other park facilities, for much of it's length, and consequently the holes are relatively short, and play close to paved walkways, pavilions, and other playing fields. That said, it's quite a bit of fun- something for everyone, except possibly the big arm crowd. The open holes are dotted with trees, and the wooded holes, though short, are challenging. None of the fairways are terribly restrictive, but it may take a few throws to find the best route to a birdie. Since it only takes about 35 minutes to play, plan on going through at least twice.
The beginner will enjoy the course, without being too frustrated, and the more advanced player may well feel that every hole can be birdied, and many aced.
