Nice mix of short and long holes. A few technical holes that required a little more skill. I really enjoyed Holes 5-7. Hole 6 was a true "grip it and rip it" hole which is great for those of you that want to test your power. Tees are clearly marked with a minimal graphic and distance. There are no next tee markings but it isn't too difficult to find the next tee without it.

It hasn't rained in about 4 days but there was still a lot of standing water on quite a few holes. There are a few holes that you could lose a disc or two on. Watch out for #8, don't let your disc fade too far left or you'll lose it down the hill amongst the weeds and cacti.

This course is actually very under rated on this site, and truly is an excellent course. For starters, this course should be a 3 or higher simply because of the fact that it is reclaimed land. Any time a a landfill can be turned from a stanky pile of refuse into even a crappy discgolf course this is a good thing. What we have hear is a trash pile that was converted into an awesome course. The course may not have very much shade, but it does have really good holes and use of the land. The first four holes are wide open and a little repetitive, but my impression of them was that they were just right to get you warmed up for what's coming at you next. Hole 5 is the first hole where you can really tell that you are on top of an old landfill. Also 5 has great views of the planes at Lackland AFB, downtown SA, and Texas country...but there is plenty more of this to come with this course.
So the holes begin to get progressively better from 5 on, 5 - 11 play down, around, and then back up on side of what I would consider to be the main hill the course plays on. 12 is a great chance to air one out...the pin is downhill and partially hidden with only the yellow ring around top of the basket being visible. The next few holes play around (13,14,16) a little valley; up, down, and through it. 15 is a tiny little hole, a nice break really, but it should be said that the sign reads 291' and the holes is more like 191'... Hole 17 is really great and fairly difficult as it is a double dog-leg, bending left and then back to the right at the last 50' to the hole. Really this is probably the hardest hole on the back 9, and is somewhat deceptive from the tee pad. The hole goes up hill at first and looks to just be a dogleg right, but as you move up the fairway it becomes more clear that the last portion of the hole bends back and just adds a little extra difficulty. 18 is a nice simple hole to end a round on and plays right back to the parking lot.
The course is all around a really great course with fantastic use of reclaimed land. The course has plenty of elevation changes, gives you shot up hills, down hills. It plays in trees, out of trees, wide open; really Pearsall Park has alot to offer and I highly recommend playing it.

-No trash cans...and lots of trash around the course. I know this is a little ironic seeing as how the course used to be a landfill and all...
-Not alot of shade. Really only had 2 or three holes that had a nice shaded spot to sit or chill.
-Signage is a little awkward as all the holes are oriented diagonally on the sign. So, for instance, on the second hole the sign makes it appear as though the hole goes off to the right, when in fact the holes is straight ahead. Once you realize all the signs are this way it's fine though.

What the heck are the cages near hole one on the sidewalk? They have soccer balls on them, but there isn't a soccer field near by, and they don't seem to have any particular function...
The course has a water fountain at the parking lot, and from having played courses from SA to Denton I can tell you that this is a surprisingly rare perk...
