Not fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Fairways are well shaped and different types of shots are needed

Cons:

AWFUL long grass surrounding very tight fairways. These things eat discs like candy and if you are playing by yourself it is nothing more than frustration all round hunting for discs that barely missed the fairway

Other Thoughts:

A very annoying course to play. Will never play it again

Pros:

Nice mix of long, medium and short holes. A few challenging but fair wooded holes in the back 9. The course is mostly flat but there are some minor elevation changes on some of holes and one pin is on a good size mound to help keep things interesting.

A lot of the course is wide open but the surrounding wooded area and tree lines are used strategically on some of the open holes to punish shots that lack control.

There are long and short tees on nearly every hole making the course more appealing to players of varying skill levels. The tees are marked by painted wooden markers in the ground.

Navigating the course is very easy. I believe the only long walk is from 16 to 17.

Cons:

More than half the course is wide open. Only the fairways are mowed so the grass and weeds continue to grow all year and can get waist high late in the year making it very difficult to find shots that miss the fairway.

The dirt tees are starting to erode slightly making the ground uneven. The distance on a few of the tee signs is way off.

Finding the long pads on some holes is a bit difficult.

There isn't a lot of shot variety here, most all the holes are straight or hyzer shots. A couple of the wooded holes force a turnover shot.

Like many other courses, this one plays in some low lying areas that can accumulate water if it's rained recently.

Other Thoughts:

The fairways are sufficiently wide for a more seasoned player and I enjoyed the challenge the rough presented. However, I could not recommend this course to a newer player when the rough is tall, they'd spend more time looking for discs than they would throwing them.
