Great wooded course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 20, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The course had 1 original layout and 3 extra safari layouts.
-Every layout was very well marked, with tee signs and arrows to the next tee, hanging from each basket.
-Every hole was very clean and neat. There were trash cans at each hole.
-Every hole had at least two bag hangers. It would've been a lifesaver if I had brought my whole backpack.
-Signs at the start of the course were very easy to read and understand, and there were maps and scorecards printed and in folders. I was very pleased by that, even though we have apps that do both these days. Helps if you wanna do it with pen and paper.
-Every hole had disc golf and town history to teach players and students learning disc golf. Very thoughful.

Cons:

-Hole 8 was missing a tee box, it was backed up to a parking lot, so the tee may have been the parking spot, but I wasn't completely sure. Kinda winged it by standing where I felt like I had the clearest shot.
-There were bugs everywhere (it's Florida, what do you expect?) In summer, bring tons of bug spray.
-It had rained nonstop for the past 2 days, and the #1 basket was partially underwater (about 6 inches-1ft above the ground). I threw every disc in my travel bag, six, twice, trying to putt a birdie. I made my sister walk out into the water to retrieve my discs. She enjoyed the splashing of essentially 12 discs splashing the water and not hitting the basket. I didn't.

Other Thoughts:

These could be pros or cons depending on your ability and/or experience:
-Very wooded.
-Short holes on original layout.

I am from Kentucky, just staying nearby for vacation, and we have lots of courses within a 30-minute drive from my house. This was the only course in the area, but with 4 layouts, it makes it seem bigger. The course is laid out across about a half acre, but the trees made it seem larger. The trees posed a nice obstacle as I played. Overall, this is a very nice course that is properly maintained. I wish I could've stayed and played all 4 layouts, but I was only here for one day. Major props to the designer and the local players for making and keeping this course so neat and pleasant. Thank you all for an incredible course to end my vacation on!
