Solid Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 16, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

- A good varied layout (trees, some elevation change, natural OBs, etc.)
- A reasonable mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s
- Scorecards right at the first tee
- Good signage
- Navigation is pretty easy
- Good "stretch your arm out" course
- Several signs on the par 5's that show how long
- Even the short tees don't have many easy birds. As a beginner who has shot -8 down at my local beginner course, I appreciated shooting +1 here.

Cons:

- In the winter, the ditch on 12-14 can be filled with brutally cold water (about a foot deep or so, tricky to get a disc out)
- The weird drive-thru paths or trails or whatever they are is really annoying when people use them. An elderly woman parked her car directly between the tee and the basket for #11. Several times I had to wait for cars driving very slowly on the trails, very annoying.
- A good bit of trash on the front 9.
- Not a huge fan of 18 -- maybe its because I'm relatively new to the sport, but the highway is right there on a hole where you are really throwing your arm out. Kind of freaky.
- Pedestrian/car traffic is quite annoying on the back half. I am all for respecting park users but several of the holes are right next to high traffic areas of the park.

Other Thoughts:

Maybe this is a dumb thought, but the difference between this being a 3.5 and 3.0 to me is that it feels largely uninspiring. It's a good layout but nothing distinguishes it for me. Near traffic, so not particularly quiet. Near a park, so plenty of waiting for bystanders to move. I left and felt just okay about the course.
