Old School Disc Golf (With HEAPS of Potential) 2+ years

Pros:
Rainbow Springs is a quiet family campground nestled in the wooded hills of the Mohican Valley. Rustic charm is the main beauty here.
Pulling up the gravel driveway, you can see a few rusty baskets scattered around the front enterance area. I stopped at the little shack, and there is a window with a list of prices next to it.
I was treated very nicely when I arrived, and the camp employee seemed happy to see a visitor for disc golf. He told me where to park, and gave me general information on how the course flowed.
To get to the first tee, you park in front of the green fence right next to the office. The 1st tee is next to a row of trailers behind the swing set,
Rainbow Springs is really a beautiful piece of land. Maybe not so much on the front 9, but the back 9 plays up and down a steep hill, with views of small ponds and the surrounding scenery.
While most holes are pretty wide open and straight forward, there are a few that'll test you.
#17 and #18 are two of the more memorable holes. #17 is considered their "signature" hole, and plays just under 400' downhill. #18 makes you carry the swimming pond, with another pond right behind the basket.
Friendly staff and REALLY friendly campers were very welcoming. Had a couple discussions with a couple guys about the course, weather, etc.
The grass was all cut down, so you aren't trekking through knee high weeds or anything like that.
Mohican State Park is surrounding this place, lots of activities to do there.
Office offers snacks, drinks, etc.

The equipment here is very dated. All 18 baskets are rusted, and don't catch very well. Home numbers are missing on some baskets. The tee signs don't have any hole map. Some are missing the hole numbers.
Only one set of tees, and they are natural.
There is SO MUCH untapped potential. If I were to come in and redesign the place, I'd scrap the entire front 9 and focus on the back of the property. There's a whole chunk of land that is unused to the left of the office. Also, I think the woodlands could have been utilized better. I'd love to step in and help redesign, but I'm not sure if that would be a welcomed change here.
Some holes share fairways, and can be dangerous if there's more than one group playing. Again, spreading it into the unused area and surrounding woods could really help out.

Other Thoughts:
I might reach out and see if Rainbow Springs would be interested in a makeover. A re-design and some newer equipment could attract a flock of disc golfers. But for now, this quiet 18 will sit mostly unused...
