Small town, small course

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 16, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice tee signs
cement tee pads
new baskets
Alternate pin positions (all where in short when I played)

Cons:

Not much to the course, it's mostly wide open

Other Thoughts:

This town is small enough that if you blink, you can miss it. But just off the highway behind a few buildings is a small park with a 9 hole disc golf course.

The first couple of holes are pretty wide open. Actually almost every hole is wide open. The few tree's in the park really do not come into play much.

As you play, the holes do get better. Not real happy with holes 6 and 7 being side by side and almost the same shot. Too much walking to play these few holes.

The tee signs list alternate pins, I actually came across some of them but every hole was in the short, regular pin position.

Hole 8 was kind of funny, it says on the tee sign that in tournament play, you have to clear the walking path to be in bounds. The basket is like 10 foot past the path and you have a tree on one side and bushes on the other making this the only tight hole on the course.

I really liked hole 9, downhill turnover shot past some large tree's. This was really the only hole that the biggest shot is the turnover. The rest of the course is hyzer or mostly straight shots.

Would I play here again? Nope, shoot, I will probably never visit Red Bud again. I love seeing well marked small town courses out there. But I do not believe this course was designed very well. I really think this course could have been designed better without being dangerous. I sort of understand why the first holes throw along the creek. These were to try to avoid hyzer shots.
