Singing The Blues At Red Bird

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 28, 2021 Played the course:once

Pros:

Red Bird Elementary in Madison (AKA North Elementary) is one of only two elementary school disc golf courses in the whole state of Ohio. Unfortunately, that's pretty much the only bragging right this course has.

+ Each hole has a very basic tee post, and navigation is pretty straightforward.

+ Could be a decent place for field work or putting practice.

Cons:

- Well, the course is basically in a field with no elevation changes. The design tries to incorporate some of the shrubbery around the perimeter of the property, but it's all overgrown and tough to find a disc in.

- Obstacles include two playgrounds, a basketball court, and even the school building itself on #9. Obviously not playable when school is in session.

- A few holes seem a little bit long for young kids. Especially when they're lined with private property and dense grass/bushes.

- Natural tees and older baskets (Mach II). A few of the baskets were leaning heavily to the side.

Other Thoughts:

The course at Red Bird could serve as an introduction to the game, but the boring, long, and repetitive nature of some holes might not be intriguing to the target audience.
