Great for a quick round while visiting 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 12, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Course map by the restrooms is in good shape.
-Teepads on every hole.
-Baskets catch well.
-Despite the openness of the course design, the trees in the rough actually pose a challenge on every hole.
-This course definitely tests your distance, a lot of holes were above 400 ft.
-More intermediate friendly than beginner friendly, we had two beginners with us and even though the holes are very open we all still threw into the rough.
-You're not gonna lose your disc in the rough/OB areas.

Cons:

-Hole 1 isn't exactly near the edge of the course, you have to walk more inward before finding it.
-Despite the different hole designs for each hole, they all felt the same to play.
-The tee signs have maps but some are faded.
--It seems some players have tried to fix this with sharpies but it'd be better to have them replaced outright.
-Rocks in the rough/OB areas will eat your cheaper plastic.

Other Thoughts:

Pokemon Go: Stops and a gym in the parking lot and other park areas but not on the course itself.

-Be careful and look out for loose dogs and dog poop.
-Despite the trees on the course, there's actually not a lot of shade.
-Also, despite the 90 degree heat, we didn't really break a sweat (compared to the humidity of Texas).

Growing Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 13, 2010 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Course is very well manicured and seems as if the area was designed specifically for the sake of the course. Tee pads and signs are all great. Good variation of distance.

Cons:

Course is completely flat.

Good practice course.

Other Thoughts:

"I believe this course will change drastically over the years as the trees grow into size. As the trees grow, it will change the wholes to create a very cool GOLF like experience... dividing the fairways and forcing particular shots

Excited to watch the course grow." -2012

Now in 2013, the course has really started to take it's own! The holes continue to get more challenging and a very unique course is starting to develop.

Red Ridge 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Signage is great
Concrete pads
Nicely kept
Narrow fairways make accuracy a must
Baskets on all pins
Plenty of park amenities
Young park with great potential
Easily maneuverable

Cons:

No shade so definitely bring your water
20-25 minutes away from the strip (I was on vacation)

Other Thoughts:

This park was nice. I felt like I was on a golf course shooting down the fairways. If you make the drive out there definitely play the sidewalks and gravel areas OB because if you don't its far too easy. For a 9 holer the distances aren't too bad but its landing in the grassy areas that makes this course difficult. I can imagine when the trees grow to there full height, this course is going to rock. I can say that this park was solely set up for this course. You definitely won't encounter any bystanders on the course. Yet, being that the course is so young, Sunset Park is still the better choice but if you're looking for a challenge accuracy wise don't overlook this course.
