Small town, small course, small review 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Apr 30, 2012 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The course is very easy to figure out, because it's such a small area. Given the fact it was built on private donations in a small community, they did a pretty good job on it. Gives you plenty of practice at those mid-range shots, with little obstacles to overcome each hole.

Cons:

The biggest problem is the 5th hole, as the line between the basket and tee crosses the edge of the outfield of the softball field. This can be an awkward hole if a game is going on. However, it's not the end of the world to skip it or play it different. I also agree that the concrete for the tee boxes is pointless, as they are far to small to be used for any kind of walk-up/run approach.

Other Thoughts:

While others want to rip on this course because of the type of catcher chosen and such, you must know the reason for that. While they weren't the perfect choice, one must realize that this course was built on private donations because the small city doesn't have a budget to put something like that together for something that was new to the area. If you observe the baskets while playing, they are clearly marked with small plates that point out which area business donated the money towards the installation of that hole. The course was put together by some local business owners as activity for familes to enjoy within the community. It wasn't designed to be a professional world-class course. Please, be kind in regard to those responsible for building it. That being said, its still a fun course to play and build your mid-range shots around obstacles. The baskets are still in great condition and free of vandalism. The park is well-maintained when compared to others I've played at.
