Pros:

Right in middle of city
Nice park amenities
Nice baskets
If you bring family there is lots to do besides DG
Course is well groomed

Cons:

Located in busy park
alot of holes play right along busy road
no real obstacles
most of the time baskets are straight shot from the tee.
short tee box
most the holes feel the same.

Other Thoughts:

this is a good park for what it is. but the only real challenge of this course is trying to keep your throws from landing on the busy street. if you have time to drive somewhere else, i would do so. otherwise it is a great course in a pinch.

Too busy!!! 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Very nice scenery along the Arkansas River with nice hills. The course and the baskets are well maintained.

Cons:

Everything about this disc golf course is busy. The park has a lot of running/biking traffic around it, which is great for a park but not good for a disc golf course. You constantly need to watch out for pedestrians. Riverside Drive also runs alongside the park, and it is incredibly busy. Five of the holes play right beside the street with the baskets being about 15-20 ft from the road. RHBH throwers really have to be careful to not land those holes in the street. Most of the holes are relatively short and narrow so you don't have the opportunity to really let loose.

Other Thoughts:

This course would be good for a beginner because of the short holes, but it would also be quite a challenge because of the accuracy required for the narrow holes and baskets close to the busy street.

Fun 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Dec 22, 2007 Played the course:never

Pros:

Good signage, logical progression from one hole to the next, grounds are very well-kept throughout the year, central location and short length make it great for squeezing in a round in less than an hour, little-to-no chance of losing a disc, bathroom and water fountain facilities.

Cons:

busy road borders a third of the fairways, 10 forces you to throw over a parking lot usually filled with cars, short length and wide-open terrain won't challenge many experienced players, one of the city's main walking trails runs through entire course, often right across a fairway.

Other Thoughts:

Course gets an "Average" score simply from a pure disc golf perspective, there are other factors that are often considered beyond that. I really enjoy playing this course because its length and entry-level difficulty make it a great introduction to the sport for friends/family who may not have play regularly. My dad, sisters, and wife will gladly accompany me to Riverside when I know they'd be frustrated with more technical courses. Watch out for runners, joggers or kids every time you step onto the tee! They're oblivious to the course and don't think twice about sneaking up behind you as you drive. Traffic on the course and on the bordering street is irritating only on the busiest days but is bearable otherwise. What it lacks as a pure test of disc golf skill is made up for in the atmosphere and ease of access when those factors are important.
