Small town niner. 2+ years drive by

Pros:

Roanoke Park is located in a nice small town park. It's well kept with a nice swimming pool right off the parking lot. It is an open course with scattered trees.

This is an excellent beginner course. I thought the designer did a really good job of using the land wisely. I threw quite a few different discs and creative shots.

This course has nice concrete tees that are level to the ground. You can run up from behind if needed.

The tee signs are descriptive and have all the information you need.

Cons:

2 of the Innova baskets had some problems. One had a cracked and bent basket. #5 had a broken inner ring. There are several chains not hanging properly.

The drainage ditch had some problems too. They are doing to some work to fix it. The middle of the park was flooded so you have to walk a little ways to get around. This is the first time i've seen it like that but beware that it might be muddy and you might have to walk extra. #9's basket was unplayable witht he high grass and mud surrounding it. After big rains water runs from surrounding farm fields into the park.

Other Thoughts:

Casey's gas station is located just down the street. If you aren't from the area Casey's is a great place. Awesome doughnuts and pizza.

Roanoke Park 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 9, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Very nicely maintained park. Good grass, great signs (with map, length, par, etc...), and good conditioned baskets.
-Concrete tees and it's free. My brother and I were the only people who were there minus two cute girls trying to tan, haha.
-Nice variation of lengths of the holes, but most of the shots were the same. Get it around a tree or get it through a group of trees.

Cons:

-Doesn't cover the whole park. They could have easily added another 9 baskets on the other half of the park, and I really think they should. It has potential
-It doesn't look like there's a disc golf community here at all. :(

Other Thoughts:

There's nothing spectacular about this course that makes it stand out from the others. It's just another park with trees here and there and a playground and that sort of thing. I had troubles uploading pictures to the main screen, so here are some links for those interested:
