Pros:

1) Nice large park which now has disc golf. There are plenty of other activities here to draw others in and now they will see the disc golf and hopefully think . . ."that looks like fun, I should give that a try sometime".
2) Signs have Hole #, and a map of the hole. There is a larger overhead map of the entire course at the first tee. I wish I would have paid attention because I struggled to find one of the tee and ended up playing in the wrong order. It is my own fault because the information needed was provided.
3) Garbage cans available in a few places. It is nice to see they want to keep this park nice and clean and it seems like the par users also must feel this way because it was fairly clean.
4) The baskets are ok and look to be copies of the Chainstar. They are at least similar looking, truthfully I didn't pay that close attention to how they caught but I would assume they were just fine since I didn't write anything negative about them. They seemed to be powder coated grey or perhaps this is the galvanizing process.
5) Wood framed tees filled with gravel and sand. I was a little surprised at how these tees seemed to be holding up. The gravel mixed with sand seemed to be well packed into the forms and I really did not question my footing when teeing off from these tees.
6) The disc golf seems to be fairly well removed from the other activities so the interaction will be minimized. This is always a key design factor . . .because it will avoid any potential injuries and incidences between disc golfers and other park users.
7) Any time I get the chance to throw a few rollers is awesome . . . while you can throw through the air on any of these shots, this is a perfect place to work on your rollers.
8) Beginner friendly for sure . . . this course is open enough that beginners will not encounter too many struggles or obstacles. It does still show the beginner what the game is all about, but it will not frustrate anyone.
9) There is a very unique feature on this course and that is the bridge wall that runs along Hole #9. The bridge going to the north is about 30' tall. It lines the entire right side of the fairway. There is also a tree on the left side off the tee which will force you way out and around or to go right up the middle along the bridge wall. You can actually use the wall to help you get your disc to finish in the right spot. It is unique and very fun in my opinion.
10) Lots of mature healthy hardwood trees.

Cons:

1) The tees are too small . . . fortunately the ground is level enough around the tees to allow a run-up from the worn down turf or dirt area onto the 4x4 squares.
2) The layout was slightly confusing because of a longer walk after one of the holes. I walked towards the north part of the park instead of east which ended up making me skip one hole . . . which I eventually looped back to play. I know they provided a map at the #1 tee, but it is hard to visualize where a course goes when you are there for the first time.
3) Turf is at best ok. . . lots of weeds in areas, and other areas that are clearly on sandy soil are more bare than anything else. This soil will always lead to thin turf because of how sandy it is, but it will resist compaction better than any other soil.
4) For gravel tees these are holding up fairly well. Sure there might be rock spread out around the tee, but the rock is course enough to withstand moving, but it has enough fine material to be able to pack in nice and tight too.
5) This course has almost no elevation change. It gets a little repetitive with all flat shots.

Other Thoughts:

This was a fun course despite its drawbacks. There were plenty of obstacles and different shots to make it a fun course. I threw a couple rollers and tried to s-curve some drivers through the tighter holes. You have to have a variety of shots in your bag to play this course well so be prepared. Not a destination course but a well maintained disc golf course and park.
