Rocky Ridge Is Disneyland for kids and Epcot Center For Adults! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 24, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Levi has definitely sliced himself a little piece of heaven here on his 15 acres (I'm guessing here). His kids must sit on the upper branches of the lucky tree to have all this at their beck and call. They have ATV's, zip line, trampoline, a cool swing and so much more.

We adults can consider ourselves lucky that Levi allows us a taste of his endeavors. He goes behind the call to make Rocky Ridge DGC a pleasant, rewarding experience. As you drive in and park by # 1, you see a concrete tee pad, brooms, a donation box and two signs. A smaller typical tee sign with route, distance, par and map. Then there were signs with a very large hole # which I found most helpful in navigating the course. Almost every tee area has benches.

The baskets are Discatchers with a bright, bright pink band and black baskets. They remind me of a 1957 Chevy but they DO show up well. The tee pads are concrete with differing lengths depending on that particular hole. There is quite of bit of changing elevation and Levi has created a superb design to keep you throwing downhill as much as possible. Creatively abounds, with a raised basket, a couple of islands holes and my personal favorite, # 10 or 16. I think the junior tournament this weekend necessitated some changes. Anyway, this hole is just a straight 156' but with a wall in front where you need to throw through the door opening. Just makes a simple little hole a little more exciting and challenging. There are also a couple of island holes. I also liked # 7. It's just over 200' slightly downhill but with a double Mando of trees about 20 feet in front of the basket.

Levi has provided lots of navigational aids to help you through the course. That is one advantage that having a private course affords, simple little navigational arrows and warning signs don't get ripped down at night.

Cons:

Not much happening in the Cons department. With the course configuration in the "shorts" I 'm unable to comment much on the lack of distance.

I wasn't sure about the island on # 13 on whether the area on the fairway was considered island or not.

Two hole did not have benches. Is Levi slacking off again?

There is a lot of downed debris around the course. Maybe Levi can assign his wife the task of cleaning it up? She must be one very understanding lady. Thank you, Levi's wife.

Other Thoughts:

I'm struggling with my rating here. The course only has two ratings thus far, a 4 and a 4.5. I really like this course but I can't in any good faith rate in that high. Spokane's own Camp Jalani Jamboree happens to be my favorite course in the state and I'm pretty sure I didn't give it a 4.5. So Levi will happen to settle with a 3.5 rating from me which defines this course as Wonderful. And it is!
