Pros:
A basic micro-course with a hill, nice grass, baskets, and trees.
Rolling Hills is very quick to summarize: there are four good baskets set at varying heights on a large grassy hill. Mature trees must be thrown under or around on three holes. The hill comes into play on all four.
No tees are marked, but using the positions indicated on UDisc, you have four birdieable but challenging holes, two up and two down. Three and four were fantastic to play, trying to gently landed a putter on the fast greens.
It's a pleasant environment and can be completed super quickly. It worked well as a warm-up before I hit La Mirada. Three good ace runs at least.
Cons:
There aren't tees, but I respect that decision on a course this size that most likely sees safari/practice. Maybe embedded marble numbers would be cool?
Various walkers came across the big grassy field, which as you can imagine I had to work around.
Scope is the main detractor here. Four baskets on a hill is pushing the definition of a course for some people. You could play in circles or safari something…but you can do that in any public park if you have a basket.
Other Thoughts:
Not much else to say. The baskets are here and it's a pretty nice park. If you play them as suggested by UDisc there are a couple of neat holes. It's virtually impossible to rate, but compared to anywhere else you can play, Passable is the most fair I can come up with.
~Similar Courses: Any other micro-course in a small park will feel similar. In terms of the four shot-shapes, they'd fit nicely at Rosewood-Dekalb (Redan, GA) or Sunset Park (San Marcos, CA).
