Punishes risky shots 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 2, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Mostly shaded, very pretty park. Lots of turns and elevation changes. Never crowded. Good workout.

Cons:

Punishing via water and thick vegetation. Heavily used walking path weaves through and next to most of the course. Not uncommon to see people picnicing on the fairway or fishing along the lake. The walk between holes can be very long. Poison ivy abundant.

Other Thoughts:

I have played this course a number of times this year and have never seen another player there. They are trimming back more vegetation this year and the course feels improved over last year. Still, the vegetation is thick and swallows discs up. Its a good workout to play the whole course, but easy to break it up. Lots of geese and ducks.

The closer to Columbia, the worse things get 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 22, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Huge variety of shots on this course. Poured cement tee boxes. Maps and score cards at the kiosk near hole 1. There weren't very many people out playing for a Saturday afternoon, so it doesn't seem too busy. A lot of tight, technical shots if you're into that sorta thing.

Cons:

In a multi-use park, so you'll have pedestrians to watch out for. You will have to cross the road several times and wait for vehicles to go by. The course itself was starting to get overgrown, which made finding your disc difficult at points even if it landed in the fairway. A few holes go straight over a shelter where families can be hanging out for a picnic or something, so be mindful of that. Carry the map with you because there are no signs pointing to the next hole and some can be quite a distance part. Watch out for poison ivy! I saw plenty of that on my trip there.

Other Thoughts:

It wasn't worth the 45 mins drive for me to play this course, so I probably won't be going back.

Pros:

Nice long course for those with an arm to really unleash it. Many different angles that will challenge a lot of players. The course is really well kept up and the scorecards at the kiosk are a big plus.

Cons:

There neads to be signs to help navigate the course. There were several places I was left scratching my head, trying to find the next teepad. The walk form 4 to 5 was back along the fairway. The biggest con, in my book, was having to throw AT the shelter house to get to the basket for 17. If the basket was moved I could easily give this course a 4. A couple of the teepads were aimed in what appeared to be a random direction to the in placement.

Other Thoughts:

Not a bad course and could be a great one if some of the cons were fixed.
