Everything about this course screams well thought out and quality.
Wood chips along the entire course.

Personally, when I played it, I saw none.

The difference between the white and blue tees makes this 2 courses in 1. My buddy and I, both 60+ and noodle arms playing best disc were able to par the whites.That made it fun and challenging for us. Accuracy pays off on this course. We will be back to play as often as possible.

* Good signage
* Course fairways have been cleared of debris and bushes were necessary
* Variety of shots needed (hyzer, anhyer, uphill, downhill, ...) - you'll be using all your shots
* Who doesn't like a challenge?

* Course design does seem to favor Lefty Backhand or Righty Sidearm players. Lots of holes seemed to bend left to right from tee to basket
* On a couple holes the path from the basket to the next tee takes you back up the fairway that you just played. Not good if it is a busy day with lots of groups playing.
* Lots of narrow fairways and tight lines - not many opportunities to let you rip into your shots.
* Blue Tee on Hole 4 is nearly impossible for a noodle arm like me.

Overall, I really liked the course. It definitely is a tough and challenging course which will have most players using a lot of different discs and their full arsenal of shots. It is not played entirely in the woods so you will have about 4-5 holes were much of the fairway is out in the open and you can go for a full throw.

If I played this a few more times (and I figured out how to play from the Blue Tee on Hole 4 without losing a disc) this course could be a 5. It's unfortunate that I couldn't find a safe way to play from the Blue Tee on 4. You need to throw a power hyzer a minimum of 280-290 ft to land safely. There looked to be no way of playing to a shorter landing zone for a noodle arm like me. On my typical days I'll consistently throw around 240 ft, which is not nearly enough. I'll occasionally blast a 270-290 ft throw, but that is more like a 1 in 25 throw for me. I'm just a little disappointed that, as a player with a rating around 875, the course designer makes a shot near impossible for a more average to above-average player. Even on most water carry holes there is a shorter safer play that may result in more throws but at least you can play in bounds and out of trouble.

I guess that might be my only real gripe. Otherwise ... it's a great course. Challenging yet fun. Definitely places in the top 5 in the WNY area.

= When it opened a week ago, it was a fully finished course, tee signs, boulders by every tee, new prodigy baskets, beautiful course map, etc.
- 14 holes in the woods, with scattered mature trees in the beautifully cut and cleared fairways
- Nice bathrooms on the way to first tee
- Small pavilion right by the first tee
- Long and short turf tees, on 6 or 7 holes the long tee is more than 200 feet behind the short tee (hole 4 long tee presents one of the most daunting tee shot I've ever seen)
- Great mix of lines as part of an awesome overall design.
- Variety: water holes, woods holes, one very uphill hole, one very downhill hole, a few baskets perched on hills
- Fantastic diner and a convenience store 2 minutes away from the course
- Greens and walkways between holes lined/framed by logs

- The area will always have issues with water, the course is pretty dry now but a few weeks ago had a lot of mud. The staff have done a great job digging trenches to alleviate the problem.
- Because the area is often wet, bugs can be bad out there.

This is (in my opinion) the fourth of the "royalty courses" in WNY, along with Emery, Bond Lake, and Lakeside Beach.

Currently I'd rank them Emery, Royalton, Lakeside Beach, Bond Lake...(I like the woods)
