Two good concrete tee pads and good tee signs on every hole.
Good DISCatchers, not brand new but in good shape.
Mostly open course, good for beginners. However, a pond in the middle of the course and a stream comes into play on several holes.
Disc golf only park, no other facilities.
The few trees on the course do require shot shaping and near constant wind provide challenge also.

Disc loss potential on a few holes, #7, #8, #13 and #18.
Just a parking lot in park, no restrooms, no water available.
Holes #14 - #16 play pretty close together, could easily get congested.
Parking lot is fenced in with only 10-12 vehicle limit, you may have to park a ways away if the course is busy.

While I would categorize Glencoe as a beginner friendly course, as I mentioned above, there is a decent disc loss potential on a several holes. #7 and #8 play with the beautiful pond down the left side, #13 plays across a wooded stream, that can sneak up on you from the tee, #18 plays across a wider, murky section of that stream, reachable from the tee, and guarding the basket. #2 and #4 play towards the pond, but not too close. A few other courses have property OB along the fairways.
With that said, this is still a pretty good beginner course, no holes are super long, especially from the short tees. Most of the holes play across open grass (with a few rolling hills) and just a few trees for shot shaping. No real tunnel shots, except crossing the stream to #13 and #18 baskets.
Glencoe is one of 4 courses in New Smyrna Beach, FL. It is the most open of these, with Holland being a wooded 18, Doris Leeper having both open and wooded 18 holes and a surprisingly good 9er at Crossroad Church. So if you are looking for a good, small DG town, that also has a great beach, NSB is the place.
Glencoe is rated 3.25 at this writing and I feel that is about perfect. Since I don't like to lower a course's rating if I enjoy the course, I'm going with 3.5.

What a gem!

2/3 open, 1/3 moderately wooded
Short and long pads on every hole (except 16)
Nobody else was playing at 2 pm on MLK day (very little traffic, apparently)
One funky, unique basket and one funky unique tee to give the course character.
5-6 holes play near the pond, but none of the shots are too risky (no over the pond throws)
The rough isn't too thick, easy to find if you go in
This course will allow you to improve your game, especially if played from the longer tees.

The course is somewhat monotonous with the lack of obstacles and elevation. But given what they had to work with, it is excellent.
Two or three areas of questionable design that could lead to game flow issues. Specifically hole 2-4. It is very easy to skip hole 3 if you aren't paying attention.
Windy, probably often
From the red pads, the course could be considered too easy with half of the holes being easy birdies.

In the last 7 years, all of the new courses in Volusia county (4 of them) have been specific to New Smyrna Beach. It seems that the disc golf scene is thriving in that city. Well done.
With that being said, this is the first New Smyrna course of its kind. The other three are mostly technical.
