Hail Mary, full of grace, a new course is with thee

Reviewed: Played on:Nov 6, 2022 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

At last a new course in Moraga, it only took 40 years since the last one and only a mile from the last one. It's a 9 hole course located in a beautiful forest skirting the campus of St Mary's Collage. The course consists of bumpy rubber mats, and color coated Prodigy T1 or T2 baskets. The course leans toward the shorter side with really only the final hole with any real meat to it. The signs are nicely color coated with the holes featuring fun names. All of the holes are quite technical and heavily wooded. The course is heavily woodchipped to prevent erosion.

Cons:

The teepads are probably the biggest con here. They are just rubber mats thrown down on the ground and are quite bumpy and short. They can make getting solid footing for a throw difficult. The holes themselves are not all that long, but it would still be nice to have better footing.

There are some crossing fairways, but there seems to be very little traffic out here. There was no one on the course the weekend I played with one group showing up as I was leaving. Moraga Commons, less than a mile away, by contrast was packed.

There is a fairly long walk from 5 to 6, but walking never hurt anyone.

Being on a school means theirs probably all kinds of restricted hours and parking issues you are going to have to deal with but on the weekend everything was gravy baby.

Other Thoughts:

This course is alot shorter and more technical than Moraga Commons making it a nice compliment to the areas disc golf repertoire. This is another 9 hole course that I really enjoyed.
