Pretty Little Township Park! 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Sep 5, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Salem Township Park is a very nice little park sitting behind the library and police station. The park has all the usual things like BB courts, a nice children's play area, VB courts and a picnic shelter. There is a popular walking path which meanders around the park and course. There is also a exercise course with red equipment seemingly at each tee pad area. The tee signs are a simple post with the hole #, distance and par. Holes 1 & 2 are both pars 2 at under 100'. The targets are these 7' high posts. The top 18" of the post is painted yellow. Are you susposed to hit the yellow painted part? Or are you susposed hit below the yellow part? I'm so confused.

There some very generous par 5's here so eagles could be had. Most holes use the trees to either shield the pole or to force you to throw around. Navigation is easy. The wind was blowing pretty hard over the neighboring cornfields and I imagine that might be fairly common here.

Cons:

Short distances

Windy.

No baskets.

Lacks challenge.

Other Thoughts:

With baskets in place, this would be a fun little recreational, type course. As is, I think it's more of a novelty than anything. I doubt if it ever gets much play.

It is one of the easier bags that I've encountered on my travels around SW Michigan. Slam bam! Thank you mamn!

Pros:

For the land they did a good amount of use with the elevation.

Easily route-able there should be no issue finding your way

great starter course, could play here with a putter and a mid and still do very well.

They have bathrooms in the summer and a portapotty for the winter

Cons:

Besides hole 5 I threw a putter on every hole. There is no real length.

Poles - they are placed nice but they are poles.

Lines- some of the lines seemed really weird to me. the first hole by looks seemed far out I threw a putter at 50% on a huge hyzer(around a tree) and I threw 75 feet passed it(I am a noodle arm)

teepads are grass and have random weird work out stuff

Other Thoughts:

This course is fun for what it is. I am not a huge fan of pole courses, and it felt weird that there was a bunch of random work out stuff by the tee pads. They have a pole at each end for tee and basket.

I liked it for what it was, if it was in my city I would go there, unless you are trying to rack up courses or in the area I feel there is no reason to go there.
