If you're stuck in the area... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 14, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

The course utilized the land to the best of it's abilities. It's moderately wooded, yet a few ace opportunities in the mix. Somewhat hilly around the 6th hole. There's a couple of holes that are wrapped around a small pond in the first few holes. Otherwise there are nicely placed pins in challenging places (behind/between trees).

It's worth playing if you're in the area and can't drive to the Rocks.

Cons:

While the course is pretty good at mixing it up and surprising you, it is somewhat shorter than what you would like it to be.

Area around the pond can get mucky, especially after rain.

Campers/walkers in the area

Other Thoughts:

I played it forwards and backwards just for kicks. You really only need a mid range and a putter. Hell, probably just a putter.

"Executive" Disc Golf Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 27, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

Since it is at a KOA I imagine this is many people's first look at a disc golf course. Good Pro shop. Great signs. Easy to navigate. Extremely wooded, nice. Dirt tees, but not over-used so they were in fine shape. Unusually short course. Nice and challenging anyway. The $2 donation helps to limit play to campers and keeps the traffic down.

Cons:

No footage on the score card. Short course (Executive ball golf courses only have par 3 holes). Closed in winter. Unique course in the middle of a disc golf desert.

Other Thoughts:

Website has very little about disc golf. Should add a link to the local club and mention that Joralemon Park Disc Golf Course is 45 minutes away. Local club should post a flyer in the Pro Shop.
There is "room" for 9 more holes. A clever use of the safari concept could add alternate tees to have both the short beginner course and a more normal length course. Since the campground is closed Nov 1 - March (?) there is potential for a 3rd layout for the winter, especially if there could be alternate pin placements.
