Pros:
It is great to see a Ski Resort add Disc Golf as a summer activity. The drive up to the resort reveals some great views of the mountains and lake below and those views continue on the course.
Playing the course is free, and the staff at the Activity Center is very friendly. Good map/scorecard available. Several shops and restaurants in the lodge area.
Baskets catch fine, and temporary signs are descriptive and helpful. A few "next tee" signs help on longer walks.
Most holes play up, down or across slopes and much of the challenge comes from managing the elevation change. Fewer trees in play than I expected.
Cons:
Disc Golf is obviously not the central focus here and the lower course is placed into rough areas, along service roads, etc. So there is not really a feeling of playing a round out in the woods but rather following cleared/disturbed areas, dirt roads, etc. Several of the holes on the lower 9 play behind/between cabins and condos.
Tee pads are small and rough, bordered by stones. Fairways on the lower nine were very grown up with tall grass, ferns and brush. Finding discs is a definite issue especially on the longer downhill drives.
There is a steep drop-off to the left of the basket on Hole 3 (lower course) that is covered with shoulder-high ferns and brush. Bye-bye favorite driver!!
Overall there are much better courses in the immediate area (Baldfoot DGC in Sandpoint and Farragut State Park in Athol) so unless you are interested in bagging the course or riding the lift up to the upper nine I don't see this as a destination course.
Other Thoughts:
I think that this course should be considered two separate courses. There is no continuity between the two halves and playing the upper nine-holes requires the ski lifts be running, and they don't start up till late June. So many players (myself included) only get to play the bottom nine.
