Other Thoughts:

Great course to play if you are driving through Seymour and need 30 minutes to stretch your legs. As of June 2017, all hole markers have been updated (much needed!). It is now very clear how the course layout is...used to not be. There are also trash cans throughout the course now.

Great course to practice on if you are a beginner. Any level past that and this course can be a bore. I am a local...when I practice on this course, I usually start on Hole 7, then play through 18, then go back and do 1-6. It seems like the course flows better that way than playing the course as listed. You get some nice views of the town when you start going up the hill and throwing off the helicopter pad on #2. Other than #7-12, there are lots of trees to challenge golfers. #9-11, and #18 is definitely the most boring part of the course. The entire park is built on the side of a hill, so the elevation can create some pretty tricky shots.

The pool can be a distraction some times on 3-6...better to go early in the morning or late at night after the pool has closed. Of course, Seymour can get unbearably hot in July/August...the town has the record for highest temp in the state of Texas all-time at 120 degrees. BRING WATER! I have lost many discs on hole 16 (about 5 ft. between the Discatcher and a massive, nasty, algae filled creek...I ain't digging in that "water" for my disc!)

I have grown so much as a golfer on this course. Not the best, but it is probably the best in this area besides maybe Iowa Park or Graham. 90% of the time, I am the only person playing this course when I play. As long as you are not expecting anything fancy, this course can really play great and they are improving it all of the time!
